The Football News Thread 2024/25

We didn't give a shit about people's lives in the good old days.

Health and Safety gone mad innit
Exactly.

And there's barely any travel involved, as they ALL live within 5 mins of the ground.

Woke as fuck...

Fear of blame culture I think as opposed to people taking personal accountability

I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s woke one bit of flying debris from a roof and it could be very grim for some people.

Should have immediately abandoned Blues v Wolves a few years back then :)

(It was so odd how little was made of that, genuinely could have killed 4 or 5 people in one go if Blues had sold more tickets, fortunate that it landed where no one was sat)

Ah...it was nothing.... Scarborough allowed people to fall through roofs... and the band played on...

I suppose the difference is that if you're stupid enough to stand on a roof (where you obviously shouldn't be) and you fall through it then realistically, you carry a fair share of the blame.

If you're sat in Row C at St Andrews innocently watching the silky skills of Mo Camara and a massive piece of scrap metal flies across and smacks you in the head, that's not your fault and you wouldn't expect that should happen.

Dan Ashworth has left Man Utd. Spent longer on gardening leave waiting to work there than working there.

Yep, it's just over 20 years ago that an Everton fan was killed by flying debris during high winds on his way to watch his team at the Walker Stadium.

The last thing we need is GON having to crowbar another CM into the side

Teamtalk....

As mentioned, he played a big role in signing the likes of Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs De Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee over the summer, for roughly £200million combined.

In a separate report, journalist Fabrizio Romano has named Ratcliffe as the driving force behind Ashworth’s departure. He said there was a ‘tense situation with Ratcliffe’ who was ‘not happy at all’ with last summer’s transfer strategy.

This is a major U-turn given how highly Ratcliffe spoke of Ashworth back in February. “Dan Ashworth is clearly one of the top sporting directors in the world,” Ratcliffe said.

200 million for that lot?

And who destroyed Onana as he was reportedly very good for Inter and Ajax? It looks to me like he is competing with our rabble of goalkeepers to be the worst in the PL. Just the 47 million for him.

I assume Dan Ashworth signed off about 250 million for that lot!
