The Football News Thread 2023/24

Looks like Chelsea are selling their training ground to themselves in addition to the hotels.

The NFL have 5 games abroad with plans for 9, they got around the contentious issue of losing a home game by adding an extra one to the schedule. The 39th game is a matter of when rather than if imo, especially with who now owns the teams

Great example on why players should not be asked if they want to play on after a head injury. Ederson took a hefty whack to the head v Spurs and insisted he was fine and stayed on. 5 mins later clearly the medical staff won the argument with the bench and Ederson was subbed and he was fuming.
He is out of their final game and FA Cup Final (wouldn't have played in that any..) due to a fractured eye socket

Lucky they have Ortega who is a more than adequate back up, significantly better than Bentley!

Didn't know where else to put this.

Messi's salary of $20.45 million/year is, by itself, more than the entirety of the payrolls from 25 out of 29 MLS clubs.

MLS - bending the rules for their favourite club. Used to be Atlanta now the pendulum has swung as Garber gets his photo taken with Messi. Complete and utter mockery.

The Wrexham story continues to be interesting, CEO politely moved aside... I'm sure it was her decision. Players who were mainstays moved out. It's football, no issue they aren't good enough for that level, but it'll be interesting to see how it's handled if at all in the touchy, feely documentary.
