It‘s not an argument. I have said something, you haven’t.Considering FIFA and UEFA, I really don't think there's a high ground between us in this argument.
Be nice? It‘s not an argument. I have said something, you haven’t.
Where have I been “not nice”? Alan has not presented a single alternative opinion to the original statement. I can’t think of one sport that America has imported and not made worse by excessive commercialisation and/or bastardisation of the rules.Be nice?
Baseball. It’s an English game taken to the states.Where have I been “not nice”? Alan has not presented a single alternative opinion to the original statement. I can’t think of one sport that America has imported and not made worse by excessive commercialisation and/or bastardisation of the rules.
Baseball finds its roots it many different old English games which were imported to America by immigrants but it is generally considered that rounders is a significant forefather of the modern game of Baseball. I did not claim that rounders was baseball - my original post was that Americans take sports and ruin them. As most professional sports have their origins in amateur sports and are therefore descended from them it is a valid point to make when considering how sport has evolved in the US.Baseball. It’s an English game taken to the states.
The fact you think it’s roinders shows the ignorance and rank stupidity of your posts.
You've basically asked Alan to defend what you perceive to be the ruining of every sport that Americans have touched. Maybe it's me, but I find this narrative you're pushing a bit confrontational.Where have I been “not nice”? Alan has not presented a single alternative opinion to the original statement. I can’t think of one sport that America has imported and not made worse by excessive commercialisation and/or bastardisation of the rules.
You are.I could be wrong
I just see the remark TSB made about Americans ruining all sports as not a nice thing to see, especially if you're American.Come on... there's plenty of confrontational posters on TWF, including the fella taking the moral highground with TSB earlier.

There's absolutely no nuance is there?Your prerogative, I just find the pearl clutching and 'let's all be nice' lecturing pretty selective.
I presume you'll be there to police all other instances of 'not nice-ness' on the forum?
I am not taking lessons from you about forum etiquette so don’t waste your time. You are.
Your post was a glib remark and you thought it would be funny.
Guess you watch too much Mrs Brown's Boys.
I think that has been part of the problem.Perhaps people should get out more.
