If people worldwide wanted to watch the Spanish League as much as the Premier League then they'd attract the same value. If that level of distorted jealousy is their motivation then it's easy to see how he got the idea off the ground and manipulated the Americans.

Christ, Agnelli is a morally repugnant arsehole.

Quite! If Barca and Real were equitable with the TV incomes to allow the smaller clubs to gain even some form of equal footing, the league would attract far greater viewing figures.

Agnelli you say?

Same guy apparently blocked a 1.8b deal for Serie A

There isn't a magic bullet for this. This is what capitalism does, tries to find a way to extract as much money as easily as possible and damn the consequences.

If we're scared that the game will lose money or investment then we'll continue to have these kinds of things happen. The days of benevolent owners are diminishing.
Consumerism - convince people to buy something they don't really need and once they've bought it charge them again for the privilige of having it before telling them it is no longer fit for purpose and they need to upgrade.

The line you shouldn’t punish the clubs because it’s the fans and players that suffer.
Ok that’s fair but when clubs go into administration and docked points it’s those people who suffer the same when your club breaches FFP.

Exactly, it's a weak get out

Also fans of the other big 6 were very much in favour of Man City being booted out of Europe this season due to FFP.

Pretty sure it was a quid for me to get in when I started in 1988. Definitely under a tenner for my Da.

We actually do ok with kids' prices but the step from there to adult in one fell swoop probably means we lose a load straight off the bat.

I pay it because I'm an idiot but I think our pricing is way too high as it stands, especially as we've now settled into just being a Premier League team, the novelty isn't there.

We definitely used to pay either £1 or £2 to get in the South Bank in the late 80s and occasionally treated ourselves to the John Ireland Family Enclosure, £4, binoculars optional

A long time ago but I think it was still 'old money' my first few games, 2 and 6 springs to mind (12.5 pence) although a few years later 35 pence rings a bell. My early attendance would raise a few eyebrows these days, my dad and big brother weren't interested in football, in fact detested it but as I was keen my dad asked some of his drinking buddies who were fans to take me, remember as a 11-12 year old, waiting outside the pub for them to come out and off we'd go.

Christ I can remember paying 2 schillings (10p) to see games as a kid at Molineux.

Anecdotal of course (they could all sit miles away from me and/or not walk the same way to the ground as I do) but you don't see many people in their 20s or early 30s.

You'd have to ask them whether it's because they can't afford it or they can't be arsed.

Sadly a lot of the teens that go seem to be more interested in having a bit of aggro more than anything else. Despite them being about as threatening as a carrier bag. Alright lads, I get you watched The Football Factory once, settle down, eh.
I'm 43 and can never be arsed to watch MOTD. I'll switch it on if something interesting happened in our game that will be discussed, but otherwise I'm not interested any more.

Conversely, I used to watch it religiously when I was younger.

I've always watched motd and still do, I like the format of the show.....mind you I agree there should be more highlights of the games and less chat.

It depends on what’s happened during each game I tend to get bored towards the end of the show when the 1-0 or 0-0 games are on.

Haven't watched MOTD since we moved into our house, nearly 4 years now I think, other than the odd isolated occasion just to kill a bit of time if I'm up early on a Sunday.

I don't really watch anything surrounding the football itself anymore though. I'll turn the game on at kick-off, do something else at half time and then it's off as soon as the final whistle goes, never watch any of the build up or analysis, if there are big things in the news from games I haven't watched then there are easier ways to find highlights than MOTD.

I have hardly watched MOTD this season, mainly because I've watched most of the games over the weekend anyway live so no need.

When we return to some normality of attending games, and hopefully 3pm kickoffs come back, I'll more than likely go back to watching it on an evening/following morning

Listening to the 'Wake up to money' show on the business of football and Moxey is on there espousing the benefits of project big picture.

A man that is everything that is wrong in the game of football. He is involved in a company called General Sports Management according to the podcast that helps buyers and sellers in football get together (involved in the Derby County sale). He still is director at Burton and a NED at the EFL. How that isn't a conflict of interest I'll never know.

The Brighton CEO explained that Project Big Picture was the same as the ESL in that it was a clandestine plan cooked up for the 'Big 6' to get more money.

I fucking despise Moxey and the sooner he is out of the game the better.

Totally agree with you Johnny75 about Moxey. I HATE the cunt, a patronising wanker.
