I researched hate crimes for my dissertation topic and me and a professor spoke on Twitter after he wondered if there would be this reaction when fans returned to stadiums. It was easy making the gesture in empty bowls, would they continue to do it if it was loudly opposed etc etc

I doubt it'll be just Millwall. Just look at the annual hoo-ha that follows James McLean around. I expect the media to amplify it (over reporting it, the booing was clear, loud and obvious) being those Millwall ruffians but it'll be heard at other grounds too. Thy'd love to isolate it as a Millwall problem to avoid damaging the brand but I expect there to be at least one big incident of it in the Premier League.
I hear that it was clear and obvious so var have overturned the boos and they are now in fact cheers.

I agree , however Deutsch doesn't rate him says he is a bottom half premier keeper at best:

He is ahead of Henderson and a street aheadof Pickford for me!
Looking at Henderson tonight you'd be wrong.

Very good display.

He was excellent.

Personal preference is Pope but Henderson is better than Pickford. De Gea is in trouble getting back in?

Henderson is the best of the three - it just depends how much game time he will get, this could be his chance though.

I think this is the only thing stopping Grealish really hitting heights. This propensity to act like a div when he should really know better.

Above is a pretty incredible statement from the Millwall supporters club which I find pretty dreadful trying to defend what their fans did yesterday.

They probably think they are being really reasonable too, fucking idiots.

It’s an irresponsible statement and borderline delusional.

I'm not racist but...

Total bullshit from a bunch of racist cunts. What "BLM Organisation"? Have they set up a HQ in London? Just a complete lack of understanding about what every player is trying to highlight and achieve and as for their "code of conduct", it's not worth the paper it's written on.

Surprised it took them that long to come up with that given they are exactly the same bullshit reasons you could read on Twitter within half an hour of it happening. Even if i choose to believe the BLM element, everyone knows that the kneel isn't in support of that particular movement, but racial injustice/inequality in general. They even changed the slogan to make that clear.

Darlo, BLM have registered as a political organisation to run in elections in the UK, which has given the racists the excuse to hide behind that

Well, every day is a school day. I guess some might say that if it isn't "Tory bashing" or "Momentum loving" I don't pay much attention to such things ;)

Interesting article in the athletic about the blues - wonder if we’re looking at any more of their youngsters?

Confusion reigns for Birmingham youngsters

The confusion around Birmingham City’s academy restructure has created serious unrest among parents of players in the youth set-up, Gregg Evans reports.

Last week The Athletic reported that the Championship outfit wanted to replace the Under-23 and Under-18 teams with a B and C-team and were also considering ditching youth development from the Under-18 level downwards.

An official club statement then confirmed that the B-team plans had been discussed, along with the message that funding “an academy system of 10 different age groups and developing value is becoming increasingly difficult”.

Yet just 24 hours later, Birmingham issued another statement reaffirming changes to teams for those over 16 but adding that it was “business as usual” for players aged between eight to 16 — a U-turn that is understood to have been sparked by a meeting between senior academy staff and chief executive Dong Ren. Mike Dodds was also confirmed as the new academy manager following the departure of Kristjaan Speakman, who left for Sunderland just days earlier.

The contradicting statements are understood to have unsettled some families with youngsters at Birmingham, with children reduced to tears as they thought their time at the club might be up.

Rival clubs were also keen to find out more and for a short period thought that some of Birmingham’s best players, who would usually cost a hefty compensation fee, could be snapped up for nothing. For now, though, they will all remain at Birmingham City.

Was very strange all round. Their initial statement really did seem like they were scrapping schoolboy ages. A friend even said that some of the staff had no idea that the statement was coming out. Then seems a bit of a u-turn and still hoping to go Cat 1 (would be a big move for them)

Grealish banned from driving for 9 months for 2 offenses. Witness told the Judge he was pissed at the first, but as he disappeared from the site of the accident he wasn't charged with drink driving.

Christ i hate that scumbag

Got to admit, his arrival at court was amusing.
