I feel that is equal parts great gesture/trolling the fans from Ozil there.

That is top trolling from him. Is he still completely frozen out at Arsenal? Shame as he is a lovely player to watch.

Was.

He's about as lovely to watch as James Corden ballet dancing these days.

Yeah he’s done at a decent level tbh, as wonderful as he has been in the past to watch.

Sure Utd would still buy him.

Gunnersaurus could replace Wally as manager

Man City's Twitter account has been suspended.

Seems they have been buying a shitload of bot accounts to boost its follower numbers and Twitter no like that

Account is back active. Some sort of admin error being blamed. Strange that this morning the account had 8.5m followers and now apparently has around 1.5m. That’s a LOT of bots.

BlueMoon1 right through to BlueMoon7000000 will be fuming today

Sancho, Bellingham, Nelson are the only players I can think of, but they didn’t go to Germany to play B team football.

I’m sure if Sancho was given the opportunity to play for “City B” in league 2 or move to Dortmund he’d still do the same thing.

I suppose they might argue that he would've played for the B team the year before he left and then they might have been better able to judge if they could offer him first team opportunities to rival Dortmund when the offer came in. You're not going to throw many 16 year olds into a Premier League team and I imagine it's difficult in many cases to be confident in sending them out on loan for various reasons, if you had that intermediate level under your control then these big talents probably get competitive games sooner.

I can see the merit in the B team concept but it's not going to happen with England's bloated league structure and the sense of tradition that comes with it. I don't think the guy is wrong as such in pointing out how unsustainable many lower league clubs are these days even though he's using that argument to further his own agenda. Think the only compromise would be some sort of partnering agreement that could be formed between local clubs but it's not ideal, your lower league clubs still won't want to surrender much control even in exchange for getting great young talent through the doors, albeit temporarily.

Random question - villa lost £69m in their championship season, then spent £140m last year and another £90m this year - are we expecting them to be ok with FFP?

Pretty much as Premier League FFP isn't worth the paper it's written on.

They'd be bang in trouble with UEFA but even despite their start I think we all know they're not very likely to qualify for Europe.

They flogged their ground to their owners. That kind off fixes it.
