Yeah by a mile! It's one of the prettiest though, had such a nice time when we went there - really good to get some practise trails in. The 2nd half of that is a real challenge.

Parkrun PB attempt tomorrow.

Failed, 17.45, 24 seconds off, started too fast and couldn't hold it.

Managed a new PB - 19:42. First time ever that all 5 splits were under 4 minutes. And the 5th km was the quickest (3:51). Finished 4th which is my joint best. Very happy, I seem to enjoy running in the pissing rain!

Nowhere near your levels though @Elephant Pyjamas - another attempt next week?

No parkruns in Lanzarote unfortunately! So next Parkrun will be 8th and/or 15th.

But I think i need to take the pressure off myself and attack it after Valencia, I have fatigue in my legs from consistent marathon training that isn't conducive for 5k running, if it comes in the meantime then great, but I'll just aim for sub 18s until then now I think.

Worked myself up about it today, prior too, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Singapore & Malaysia parkrun’s added to the repertoire in the last two weeks (the Mrs is a big parkrun tourist, I get dragged along)

The heat and humidity is a real killer although happy to have shaved 3 minutes off my Singapore time from 2 weeks ago this morning. The scenery on this mornings run was particularly nice!

Also, in the next instalment of “the world is a really small place” all of the people below were from Nottingham and mostly run at our local parkrun’s and all happened to be in KL at the same time!

I don't know if anyone else is like this, but I use 2 pairs of shoes MAXIMUM in everyday life. That's for work, going out, popping down the pub, you name it.

But I now have SEVEN pairs of running shoes. It was 6 but I've just ordered a pair of Hoka Speedgoats to do some trails during the winter to mix things up a bit. I do use them all TBF.

It's your Parkrun ID - you'll need to register with the Sportsshoes site and then there's an option to add your Parkrun ID under 'partner benefits'. There's also an England Athletics discount too if you're a member of an affiliated club
