The Film Thread

It is one of the most brilliant bits of film ever made.

Yep the bombing scenes are one of the least scariest which tells you something. Bits ingrained in my head is when she walks through Sheffield after the attack and sees the horror or the hospital scene.
They got the balance right of creating a real shock scare factor and not going to far that would’ve been far to graphic to broadcast.
You know full well there’s stuff not in there that you know has happened but can’t be broadcast.

I watched the Peaky Blinders movie last night. The accents have always been ropey, but a special shout out to Barry Keoghan who after 14 years saves the worst for last.

If he had to do angry Duke...he became Irish.

That said, I think that must be a normal thing as I have heard @Deutsch turn full on cockney when he is in a rage (beautifully called Seyi a "fackin' right cant"....at high volume whilst in the corporate section of the BW Stand)

Project Hail Mary is great. I laughed and I cried. Disney really fucked up taking Lord and Miller off Solo.

A couple of movies that I watched recently and really enjoyed;

One Battle After Another

Americana.

Anyone watched Saipan?
Yeah, I went to see it at the Lockworks (which is very nice).

It takes a few liberties with the actual events and probably favours Keane more than Mick, but the performances are excellent and that's the main thing.

Also big obvious nostalgia value for people of our age (I was 21 that summer).

I don't think either Roy or Mick are portrayed particularly accurately as to who i think they are. There is more depth to Mick than they showed, no way Mick would have been as blasé as they showed.

But it's a good watch.

I was very much Team Mick at the time (this being long before he had anything to do with Wolves)

I assume "Macca" in is is George McCartney? He doesn't come across well.

In fact probably Stephen Reid seems like a decent chap.

The casting feels weird, as the characters they are playing are so familiar to me.

Niall Quinn :ROFLMAO: was spot on though

McAteer, no?

McAteer and Keane fell out

Culminating in Keane clumping him one early the next season at Sunderland and getting sent off

I dont get the hype over him, he's awful in everything he's been in, wooden, expressionless, shite at accents... what am I missing? How is he so famous?
