Again? He was rapid in Malaysia before the incident and was quick in Aus. For some reason he can't start though. Brilliant race, and I'm happy despite the Ferrari strategists being an absolute shambles.
I wonder if Button has finished explaining his error strewn day.
when Alonso puts a complete race together he will be fine, he just started crap again. I reckon he will win a GP this year
Hmmmm - we are getting the best racing in years, but ferarri aren't winning so Luca is unhappy. Do me a favour and fuck off to improve your car sunshine.
I thought Massa drove well today. Some of the stuff with Alonso was great too. However, their car isn't quite there.
I think this race highlights the difference in ability/general speed of Hamilton and Button. Jenson is very good but Lewis is a class above, imo obviously.
Lewis is definitely the naturally quicker driver and has the more dynamic style, but I feel that Jenson's ability to drive 'smoothly' is really going to help him with the increased tyre degradation this season. The great thing is that McLaren allow them to race. I sense an Alonso sulk on the horizon now that Massa has beaten him twice in a row and Ferrari will bend over for him, as usual.
I forsee Ferrari only getting enough new upgrade parts made at a GP for one car and Alonso getting them. That should get under Massa's skin. Plus team orders are allowed this season so no doubt they'll shunt poor old Felipe out of the way whenever it suits Fernando.
To be fair I'm quite surprised they didn't swap them in this race as they finished next to each other. I don't like it but technically it does make sense to have one driver finish ahead of the other whenever they are next to each other in the race. IIRC if Mclaren had done this with either driver in 2007 one of their drivers would have won the title.
Massa is not a bad driver. There's a serious chance someone will be after him for their main driver next year.
Alonso believed too much hype about himself. He had 2 great years, but it seems like he now feels a divine right to with the championship now, rather than earn it.
Hamilton as a driver is more willing to take a few risks. IMO that means he'll win more GP's than button, but button will finish more races.
The fact that teams are (currently) racing each other, and also the fact that Red Bull haven't won all the races does give hope for a decent season.
Massa is a very good driver when he wants to be. He's not one of the top 3/4 at the moment but a performing Massa is better than the vast majority of the grid. He's blisteringly quick over a single lap when he's on it.
