Pirelli are going to take a mega shitstorm over this.

It wouldn't surprise me to see them pull out after this year and go ultra conservative for the rest of the season. Their image and reputation is under too much pressure otherwise.

And right back in it. Clearly got a fast car. If he can clear a few cars when the race goes green then a decent finish is still there for him. Bizarre situation. If someone has a massive failure on a straight and doesn't hold it like vergne there could be a huge accident. Vettels tyre was fucked as well, and he pitted just in time.

The vergne incident also shows you how amazing even the drivers toward the back of the grid are. If that were one of us we would be a 200mph barrier-seeking missile.

I would imagine the driver safety was of paramount importance, and given the current situation, the race should be stopped before there is a serious incident.

I hate to say it, but I agree. Instant deflation is incredibly dangerous.
