Yes, it would have been a brilliant idea to keep on racing with a stricken car and debris on the track in wet conditions. What else could have been done? - Stop the race and restart it for a single lap, thus reducing the title to a lottery in the event that someone goes banzai and takes one of Vettel and Alonso out? With regards to Vettel passing Kobayashi under yellows, I think he let him back past straight after, but we just didn't see it on the feed. The reason I think this is that the live feed definitely showed Vettel passing Kobayashi into turn 1 just before we got a replay of the pass under the yellow, which was probably the previous lap.
