But a random act unfucked them, the safety car is pure chance and at that point the race is back on.Doesn’t fuck the other party when they were already fucked
That's be the same as ending the race when the SC was deployed.Could they not just work out how far behind the race leader all the cars were when the safety car is implemented and then add that onto everyone's time at the end? Or is that a really stupid idea
The SC isn't my beef, it's the unlapping of specific cars to ensure a dramatic finale. That wasn't bad luck, that was a conscious decision.Well the random act that triggered the issue was Latifi crashing, that's just bad luck for Mercedes. At that point they're between a rock and a hard place, end under safety car fucks one party and the late restart on a tyre mismatch fucks the other.
It's just bad luck mate, shit happens.
No Becusee what happens if it’s on lap 3?Could they not just work out how far behind the race leader all the cars were when the safety car is implemented and then add that onto everyone's time at the end? Or is that a really stupid idea

Correct. Purely because they were desperate for it to finish under racing conditions. The fact that teams agreed that they'd try and do that is what they'll cling to as an excuse for not unlapping all cars. The red flag isn't my beef, it's the unlapping of specific cars to ensure a dramatic finale. That wasn't bad luck, that was a conscious decision.
I don't know?No Becusee what happens if it’s on lap 3?
No what unfucked them was an unprecedented decision from Masi
Ouch.
I agree this would've been a better approach, and with a red flag, Lewis also gets a free set of new tyres, perfect. Clearly Max is still going to lunge in somewhere but that's that's better fight watching Lewis manage the situation. The VSC was bought in to try and remove as much of the unfairness of a SC. Unfortunately this SC couldn’t come at a worse time. Lap later and the race is finished. Few laps earlier and Mercedes may have risked changing tyres knowing they were going to be a sitting duck to Red Bull.
How it panned out Though is ridiculous and unfair. If they had red flagged it and let them have 4 laps of racing then that would have been far fairer yet Hamilton could still feel aggrieved that an easy win was taken from him. At least he would have had a chance though where in this instance he didn’t
