Brilliant Q3! That's more like it!! Didn't think Vettel was going to do it.

Alonso  Looked like he was about to cry!

Hopefully Hamilton and Button can keep the two Red Bulls honest during the race. Lap three is certainly going to be interesting when DRS comes into play.

I'd have preferred the penultimate straight to be used, it's pretty difficult to overtake into the first corner.

The thinking is that the last corner is already a decent overtaking place in it's own right, and if you are close through there then the DRS will give a very good chance into turn 1.

I think you'll get carswho are looking for a pass saving their KERS coming out of turn 14 and letting the slipstream keep them close until the final straight then nailing their KERS and DRS when the other driver has probably used their up defending on the back straight.

Was a superb Q3 I thought. I didn't think anyone would beat Hamilton's 1.35.000 yet he himself beat it, then Vettel topped it. I've not seen the onboard lap yet but I can imagine it's just superb. Great performance by Vettel. All weekend he just seemed to keep up with the other times and not show any dominance then as soon as it's needed he gets pole. The pole spot has been swapped apparently so it is now on the right side of the track. Wonder how this will effect the start as before qualifying it was mentioned that no pole sitter in X years (I forget exact but it's been a few) had been leading the race after the first corner. Should be a good race though and really looking forward to it after that qualifying.

Great start by Nick Heidfeld, and he is pulling away from Hamilton. Rain forecast, and very soon.

McLaren messed up Hamiltons pit.

Button now looking good.

Alonso almost ends his and Hamiltons race with a shite over taking move.

Sounds and reads like a very exciting race. seems Heidfelt's flyer at the start screwed up Hamilton's day from the off, but Jensen has just set the fastest lap. It's a better rad per race so far than last year, even if Greece has no interest so it doesn't make the telly.

Hamilton struggling and now down to 4th. Possible damage from Alonso hitting his car.

Webber now taken him as well and Hamilton pits. Now down in 8th

Brilliant stuff from Petrov. Goes off the track and comes back at full speed and takes off. Suspension smashed and race over.

seems Jensen looks after his tyres a little better than Lewis, although Alonso didn't help. According to Coulcthard on the beeb, Alonso 100% responsible

Fair play to Di Resta though, the wee lad is still in tenth, and has blown his teamate Sutil away.

1st - Vettel - another cruise
2nd - Button
3rd - Heidfeld
4th - Webber - great race after a poor start and his KERS not working

Hamilton 7th, poor pit stop and Alonso do his race

Very much his fault. A simple move for Alonso and he got it wrong and hit Hamilton. A rookie would be ashamed of the move.

Another german dynasti in the cards then?

Vettel will progress as a driver even further.

Hamiton was fucked anyway, he can't look after his tyres. Silly mistake from Alonso nevertheless.

McLaren cant understand why Hamiltons car lost performance, it must have been more than tyres.
Alonso was a tool

Hamilton's pace was the same before and after the Alonso incident. If he didn't pit he'd have probably have been worse off than the seventh he finished with. His tyres were gone as he had a longer stint on the what was supposed to be his last set.

Alonso and Hamilton both given 20s penalties, Alonso for spanking Lewis, Hamilton for weaving on the pit straight.

I know it makes the races more 'exciting', but there is a big part of me that doesn't understand the tyre situation. Why make them deliberately quick wearing? It means that the drivers spend their whole time being careful instead of pushing as hard as they can every lap which is what they should be doing. I want to see them all on the limit, on the edge, trying to eke out the fastest laps possible not tip-toeing around trying to make the tyres last a few more laps.

They introduce all these different technologies to make Formula 1 more exciting and overtaking more probable - KERS, adjustable wings etc. - but the most obvious solution has been around for years
