The F1 Thread

I didn't see it but how is it possibly acceptable for tyres to be produced that can explode at any minute by the sounds of it?

It's not. It's a farcical situation.

Lewis has in all likelihood lost a win at his home GP today for factors out of his and his teams control.

Tyres should not be the determining factor in F1. The FIA need to shoulder some of the blame here in asking Pirelli to change the compounds again this season as its led to a complete and utter shambles.

What was wrong with them last season?

Not only asking them to change but allowing hardly any testing. Predictably it rained for a massive portion of the tiny amount of time allowed and so everyone's gone in more or less blind, and they're not fit for purpose.

Watching the delamintations back now is bloody frightening. Horner has said that Alonso is very lucky to be going home safe tonight.

We're lucky that nobody was hurt today but it can not be allowed to continue.

How Alonso didn't hit Perez is incredible.

Young driver test now open to all drivers.

I saw that's what the teams were pushing for.

No doubt this test at Silverstone will be more beneficial than the cloak and daggers test at Barcelona so Mercedes will ultimately lose out.

I wonder if Mercedes will try and argue their case to participate on the basis that it is no longer a "Young Drivers Test", which is what they were banned from.

I had a few pints with my best mate who works for Pirelli last night...I can confirm that it was not his fault.

The contact centre in Burton has been inundated with mail from F1 fans though saying they have ruined the sport :icon_lol:

My uncle works for Pirelli in Burton. Right next to Burton Albion (hence the stadium name).

Yeah that is where he works as well. In the offices.

Hamilton on pole, just edged out Vettel, now keeping in front of Vettel will be the hard part.

Fuel pump issues for Lewis but thankfully it seems to be ok.

Best GP on the calendar in my eyes, brilliant track with lots of history. It's a shame they don't use the 24 hour track but I can understand it isn't very viable especially with the lack of recovery and well lack of laps.

It would be a death trap.

I like the GP track, but prefer others on the calendar. The middle sector is fantastic!

Now brake issues for Lewis!
