I’ve no sympathy for any fan out there - just jealousy. Not taking Sibley was a big mistake. Plenty of people predicted Duckett would struggle given he he likes to hit every ball rather than leave plenty. The decision not to was borne of arrogance that Duckett and Crawley would play every game without stopping for a second to consider they might need an alternative. The selection of Bethell ahead of more worthy candidates again smacked of “we know best”, and what the hell is Jacks doing there as a spin option if when he’s needed he bowls less overs than Bethell?
Sadly we’ve got exactly what we deserve. The only people deserving of sympathy are the fans and Root.
Bumped into a mate today who had a corporate day booked for day 3 at Perth. Got his money back but went all that way to see one day’s cricket.I’ve no sympathy for any fan out there - just jealousy.
I had tickets for the 4th test at Sydney for the 2021/22 Ashes series. Covid travel restrictions to Oz put paid to that.Bumped into a mate today who had a corporate day booked for day 3 at Perth. Got his money back but went all that way to see one day’s cricket.
100%I’m up at 7 in the morning I think this will be over before I wake up
Brain dead. No doubt got greeted by the coach with a pat on the back and congratulated for taking the game to opposition.Which makes the Jacks shot even more idiotic. Stokes can barely lift a bat with injury so you KNOW you are a batsman down and you go and play a slog that would shame a village 3rd XI. Dickhead.
Some of my Surrey friends have said he’s improved and adapted his game to widen his scoring shots and rotate a lot better. Whether that would translate to Tests is another matter of course. Can't say I've seen much of Sibley since he left Warwickshire but his game would have had to dramatically change for that to come off at international level. It used to be said of Alastair Cook that he only had three shots, Sibley barely had two. Couldn't rotate strike at all.
Hameed possibly had a case, he's been excellent for Notts.
Key and McCullum to continue...Brain dead. No doubt got greeted by the coach with a pat on the back and congratulated for taking the game to opposition.
I saw him hit a 50 over ton at the fag end of his Warwickshire career so he has always had it in the locker. He seemed to get bogged down with surviving in the past so hopefully he has progressed as we desperately need county batsmen putting huge pressure on Crawley/Duckegg.Some of my Surrey friends have said he’s improved and adapted his game to widen his scoring shots and rotate a lot better.
