The Cricket Thread

Not sure we're getting a T20 from Headingley tonight, forecast looks as grim there as it is here.

Good to see a Renshaw back batting in the north east. Matt’s dad Ian was our PE teacher at comprehensive, as well as club pro for Middlesbrough, and a great teacher he was. Got plenty of kids into cricket in a school that was a real football factory.

Six wickets in the match already for Stokes. Great news for England.

Finished with 8 in total as Durham win by an innings.
15 wickets in 2 games (we shall ignore his batting for now)

Only keeping half an eye on the T20 vs Pakistan, the FA doing the ECB no favours by changing the cup final kick off time at late notice, but think we've got too many for Pakistan even if we did subside a bit with the bat when 200+ looked on. Mo with a good Powerplay spell

Although Archer going for 15 off his first over is less than ideal

129 needed off 84

Archer with a wicket and up to 91mph

92/5, 92 needed off 48

Jordan does not belong in this squad in 2024, way past his best.

23 run win.

Pakistan never have enough in their locker to chase much more than 160

Admitting I say this biased against the whole thing, and haven’t watched any, but what a complete non-event the last few matches of the IPL seem to have been going by the scorecards. No runs, no jeopardy - reads like complete rubbish.

It annoys me that they turn off the commentary on county championship cricket to put that shite on.

It's possibly the least interesting tournament in the world. Just joyless crap, week after week after week.

Great stuff that Chris Woakes went there and didn't play a single game, helpful.
