The Cricket Thread

Yeah, Tongue has had injuries relatively recently and won't be used to going back-to-back at that intensity.

Robinson has had spells of looking unthreatening but so has everyone, doesn't Cummins have one first innings wicket so far (and that was Tongue)? His numbers have held up, statistically he's made one of the best starts to a Test career of anyone in the last 100 years.

Personally I'd have picked Dawson instead of Moeen, and Foakes instead of Woakes.
Moved Bairstow up to No.3 and kept Brook at No.6.

Dawson knows how to tie up an end and is the closest to Leach for that.
We need a proper keeper as we will have genuine pace when Wood bowls.

England win the toss and will field.

The Aussies have replaced Lyon, Green and Hazlewood with Boland, Marsh and Murphy.

First ball by Wood is swinging and RAPID. Second is even quicker. Immediate mid nineties. I saw Shoaib Akhtar bowl a 100 mph ball. Wood could get close here - he is seriously quick as fuck today.

Honestly Quirk you are one of my favourite goons. I miss your company you sarcastic fucker!

The two teams in the last Ashes Test where neither James Anderson nor Nathan Lyon played:

Strauss, Cook, Bell, Collingwood, Pietersen, Flintoff, Read, Mahmood, Harmison, Panesar, Hoggard

Hayden, Langer, Ponting, Hussey, Clarke, Symonds, Gilchrist, Warne, Lee, McGrath, Clark

Bairstow responding well to his brainless moment last test. Dropping more than a donkey on Blackpool beach.
