The Cricket Thread

Boland. Australia like their fans' haircuts, they think it's still 1987.

Dicey old average for a night watchman. 15 mins left.

Happy with that today. Hopefully we can get underway just before lunchtime tomorrow and it's gloomy and nipping everywhere like yesterday.

Last 4 days is why test cricket has the edge on football imo, get 6 hours of it ebbs and flows, played in better weather, can have a drink whilst watching, very little aggro.

Every time The Ashes rolls around, it always reminds me of this brilliant video. So good.

That was probably the best day of cricket I’ve ever been to - and that includes the 5th day vs NZ last summer at Trent Bridge!

The Hollies was absolutely deafening (my ears are still ringing now 3 hours later 😂). What an experience.

“We saw you cry on the tele”

The Hollies has to be the best stand to get in for international cricket. I will let you know what the equivalent in the Gabba is like in the return series.

The late wickets have pushed this slightly England’s way but all three results are still very possible.

Miserable weather here so I guess it will be similar in Birmingham

forecast is rain will stop around 11. It was heavy this morning - soaked on the bike ride to work, but it's deffo slackening off.
Saw a mate last night who was there yesterday. He loved it, but had to leave early and missed the last 3 wickets!

That's the earliest we're going to start as lunch has been called for 12.30 and there's no chance of getting on before then. It's still raining here in WV3 and the ground doesn't dry very quickly so I think it may be a bit later than that.

Should be great conditions for our seam attack, hopefully get started before 2pm and get a good blast at them.
