There’s a radio advert for walls ice cream at the minute, its two people saying I’ll mention an ice cream, you describe it, goes along the lines of
“ twister”
“Gorgeous”
“Cornetto”
“ tasty, gorgeous, melty goodness, ON A STICK”
Annoys me way more than it should, because we all know cornetto isn’t on a stick.
Nah, AI summaries are pretty spot on. A lot of staff use them to create bullet points learning objectives from pdf files in co-pilot. It can even create some end of lesson questions based on the content relevant to whatever key stage is being taught. Obviously needs proof reading and checking with an experienced eye, but it's a huge time saver for a lot of people.
You're right about that look to camera at the end tho. Jeez.
I used ChatGPT & CoPilot all the time to summarise work stuff. Wrote me a great abstract from a powerpoint earlier today, always need to change a few things but its very efficient.
I'm sure it has some uses (although as a translator I'm instinctively suspicious of people promoting automated solutions) - but the way it's shown in the advert is dreadful.
In that example, reading the email would have been easier, and the "summary" she gets is terrible and makes her sound like she hasn't got a clue what she's on about.
My biggest gripe with mobile phone adverts is that they are often promoting features that are just universally available software rather than features specific to the hardware they are trying to sell.
I don't need to buy an iPhone 16 Pro if I want my emails summarised by AI.
