I am just finishing doing one of those (money due to be received just before Xmas) - have underwritten mortgages during my working life so have some knowledge.

PM me if you want to look at that route as happy to pass on my knowledge. Don't expect it to be cost free, but as long as you can cope with the interest then a better option than equity release (which will also cost & has other downsides).

Don't know about taken from the pension pot as all of mine are index linked final salary ones which were not sensible to disturb in this way.

get some decent filler, and fill the gap left. Leave for a couple of days then you should be good to put the pole back up.
It'll be hidden by the curtain, so no need to worry too much.

hope your journey was safe matey.
you should find that once the fillers dry it'll be straightforward enough. no need to be perfect - as long as the screws and rawl plugs are secure, it'll be only you who's aware. It's an area no one will ever see.

you'll still swear and curse whilst doing it mind. I do, even if just hanging a picture

To be fair money for food is quite tight at the minute and the local council and being surprisingly pernickety about inter species adoption

One of the Directors at work contacted me on Friday about a Global role currently open, for a Training & Quality Lead for YouTube content moderators.

It's a Career Level above my current one, so it would be a promotion basically, but it involves managing teams in California and Kuala Lumpur, so flexi hours- early starts somedays to connect with KL, and late evenings on other days to connect with the US.

Plus - the office is located on the very Southside of Dublin. I have just bought a house on the very Northside of Dublin, so if we were to return to the office, it would be ~2hrs commuting to the office, and ~2hrs home.

Spent the weekend mulling it over, decided it wasn't worth the stress and declined. Now, the same Director is asking me to re-consider, as we won't be returning to the office for a long time and I can currently do that role at home.
Not sure what way to proceed as it's a step up to Global Manager, and would open doors long term, but it will bring me back to the stress levels I had 1 years ago when I worked in Operations.
