Summer 2022 Transfer Window

You’re telling a good story, @MARKakaJIM. But that is down to the manager to stop that being a problem.

I’m just not having that the players are ignoring the manager for over 12 months or that players that are some of the best in the world can’t play in the half spaces. Even Dendoncker got on the ball in those spaces but he’s so rubbish with the ball at his feet so he’d just return it backwards.

The manager is on record as saying “we play Trincao when we want to exploit the spaces inside and x when we want to go outside”. Sounds very tactical to me. He’s also signed 3 forwards in the last 12 months so if they can’t do it, stop signing people who can’t.

And if the players are ignoring him, stop picking them. And work on it on the training ground to get better at it.

Whichever scenario you want to pick, it’s on the manager.

So:

- He isn't in charge of transfers (we knew this from Day One, it's not really an issue as such)
- He cannot make a sub or a tactical change in-game for shit
- After 44 league games, we have absolutely zero attacking plan of any value, none at all. We have scored 8 goals in our last 13 league games
- This lack of plan and threat remains unchanged, irrespective of how many new players we give him, how much they cost and how good they are

What are we paying him to do again?

to keep you annoyed. To be fair to him, a World Class job he is doing as well...

Only if he signed and played Doherty every game. I didn't think anyone hated watching him as much as me until I came here and was surpassed.

Don't think you have to worry. I mentioned him this morning tongue in cheek, he's absolutely miles ahead of the kind of manager we are attracting currently. He manages elite football clubs not midtable teams.
That might be his record , but falling out with people over and over is a recipe for disaster .

Tuchel is a show man , loves the attention .

I think I'm correct in saying that there was a match last season where he brought on Hudson Odei as a sub ( forgive the spelling ) , and then took him off again about 20 minutes later . That's dreadful man management .

He might have done well with PSG and to a lessor extent Chelsea - but look at the resources that he was given .

Since when did Lage sign players?

I've never said that they're ignoring him, the failure is on the players and the coach in my eyes. It's obvious this combination of players and coach isn't working, a new coach may bring more out of this group, they may just have to try a new approach that suits them rather than being able to actually bring new skills to the individuals.

Everyone has different skillsets, being technically adept doesn't mean you're necessarily tactically switched on or vice versa. The most talented players aren't always the most effective, it's about maximising their strengths and covering their weaknesses.

And Mainz & Dortmund where he had comparatively poor resources.

I think he's a complete perfectionist/control freak who maybe hasn't developed the most refined people skills. That tends to rub people up the wrong way but most managers have a shelf life of 3-4 years anyway which is around the point people seem to get sick of him so no different than the norm

I don’t think Neto is a inside forward. I think he is more of a classic winger, I’ll grant you that. Podence definitely is an inside forward and Guedes is supposed to be, no idea what Hwang is.

So the manager need to change what he’s asking them to do or get them better at doing what he wants, or pick the players who can do it. Currently none of that is happening. That is my issue.

If he can’t get a tune out of the players, and he isnt’t signing the players then the only option is changing the coach

Hopefully he passes the medical. It'll at least be interesting and give us some positive attention.

I have a feeling he will take no.12
