Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Aye, we wouldn't dream about spending hours arguing about ex Wolves players round these parts
Touché tbf

But hopefully once he’s gone people won’t make it feel so… personal.

People talk about him as if he’s purposely sabotaging the club; that is what gets under my skin.

We can all see he isn’t a Prem footballer.

That not the same with Lage really? Both trying their best, both not up to it?

Difference for me is that Lage is ostensibly an authority figure, but you’re not wrong that it gets too personal too easily (guilty of this, myself).

I'm not sure how you interpret it as personal at all, that's just weird. The criticism is based on the fact that as a footballer he's absolute garbage for this level and probably the one below. You could maybe consider him good enough for League 1 standard. Or possibly MLS... 😜

Keogh was always a pretty good footballer I thought, just didn't get into enough good positions in the box and 1v1 with the keeper never had any belief. Had to play as a second striker in a front two really

What baffles me with Hwang, because I think his movement is actually ok and he presses pretty well is just how poor technically he is with the basics of his control and passing. Like it genuinely blows my mind!

Not only that, he's actually a good finisher and box player.

None of that should be able to happen.

Yeah, basically don't ask him to play in the bottom two thirds of the pitch (where we spend most of the time) I guess!

“Hwang is shit” has snowballed and become a meme in its own right.

That isn’t to say it doesn’t have tenets of truth, but I do think the hype has got disproportionate.

He has a touch like a trampoline, but does certain things well enough. His finishing is pretty good, he has a genuine turn of pace and occasionally shows flashes which make you think there is a player in there (the Gascoigne-esque flick over the defender and volley against Leeds).

I won’t lose any sleep over him leaving but I certainly wouldn’t rule out him being made into a decent player for Leeds.

The pointless footballers discussion seems to have missed eggert jonsson.

Hair quality is not a consideration!

No different to how you talk about Lage, in fairness.

edit: Sorry, said the above before reading through the thread and have only just seen this:

Fair one.

I hadn't realised the deadline was tomorrow night at 11pm.

Not long to get another midfielder over the line and Hwang and Donk out the door.

£25m would seem to be...optimistic.

I've no clue what Leeds' financial situation is but they have spent a fair whack this summer themselves...maybe they're short on cash to pay up front. I imagine we'd easily take £20m so long as they don't try to shaft us on the terms.

That said if Spurs for some reason insist on signing Dan James maybe that will oil the gears a bit and it'll happen.

Remember how the consensus on that from Hearts fans wasn't even "he's bad", it was "...huh? Him?"

Such a weird transfer. Like we'd loaded up FM and filtered for all DMs available for £500k and under, and just worked our way down the list until a bid was accepted, even if they were clearly not good enough.
