Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Mosquera got one and he has 0 caps.

A quick Google shows he’s 18, already a full Chile international. Midfielder/left winger. 4 goals in 13 games in the Primera Division.

Obligatory YouTube video:

Granted he's only 18, the video is okay rather than impressive.

Well, safe to say I won't be rushing to watch any Chilean Primera División games. What an atrocious standard.

Nixon sticking to his £30m or no deal stuff

His hit rate is appalling but does get more right on clubs in that area of the Country.

He is also stating the auction for MGW is now on...

There is an argument that one doesn't happen without the other

But one is essentially done and we've rejected 25m for Gibbs white already. Before we'd done the latter I'd likely be on the same page.

We've rejected £20m from what I can see and know there's 3 clubs who'll pay more than that at some point this week if we want them to. Not saying it's a given just that I don't have a lot of faith in much of a net spend, so if not MGW then someone

That darmesh geezer on sky said it was 25m total with add-ons.

We'll see, but the whole selling before we buy thing seems to be being disproven. Maybe most of us have been wrong and the net spend will be a lot higher than previously.

The fact we are signing a young British player from a championship club is a departure from the usual Mendes carousel stuff.

Probably just me putting 2+2 together and getting 5 knowing our luck.

He is Irish , not British . Sorry , let's be fair . We rarely produce a top top player, so please don't claim him when we do .
Not having a go at you by the way , just correcting a fact .
We're pretty excited by the potential that Collins has over here .
The last top centre half we had was one Paul Mc Grath .

Be interesting to see if MGW wants to go. Obviously his relationship with certain sections of our fan base has been patchy - and Everton is a chance to start again at a club of fairly equal standing in the Premier League.

Irish independent saying Collins is a done deal, £20.3 million, making him the most expensive Irish player

If they are reporting it (have a couple of reporters well in with the international squad) then 99% certain that it is done.

Equally he could be stuck sat on his arse at Everton as he has been at Wolves. Now maybe the right time to come into the team more regularly here.

If we sign Collins - that leaves us with Coady , Kilman , Gomes , Boly , Mosquera and Collins . That's too many . Might have to send Mosquera out on loan - or perhaps sell one of them , the player perhaps who would command a decent fee .

It depends of course on whether or not we go with a back 4 . If we stick with a back 5 , then we would need two replacements on hand as part of the squad - but would we need three ?

Assuming Collins is a done deal then someone else will leave .

If we’re committed to a back four the logical move would be to sell Coady but I suspect we’ll want to keep him to retain the option of a back five. I would imagine Toti and Boly will be cover so a loan for Mosquera will be only likely departure.
