Summer 2022 Transfer Window

I've got a blind hope that the transfer of debt to equity has been done to allow us a monstrous few seasons in the market given the extra FFP wiggle room it's given us.

But I'm pretty stupid like that.
More like Fosun are looking to sell us imo.

No matter how much Neves has enjoyed playing for us, which he gives me the impression that he has, he is at the stage where he has to think of his career. He should be at a top club, which we ain`t, or look likely to be in the next season or two.

I don't buy that they're actively looking, but I do think they're happy with a mid-table club that manages a flirtation with Europe every other year, run relatively efficiently, which gives them a brand to build other brands around. If an acceptable offer comes in I don't think they'll turn their noses up at it either - and we're probably a pretty attractive proposal right now - but more generally you become a conglomerate by building and consolidating brands rather than buying, building up, and selling.

So if we get sold, who has all the wolves e sport stuff we do? Would fosun keep that or the club?

Fair enough, not the answer I was expecting, just wondered re trademarks, intellectual property and the like

If we buy some shithouse big lump like Dykes I'll be in the Bruno out train pretty fast.
We are buying a shithouse. 100% nailed on as Bruno wants one, mainly if we are chasing a game. What level of shithouse lump I don't know but situations like v Arsenal/West Ham will see us have a Ryan Giles type whipping in balls towards said lump

Weghorst would have been good.

Unless Bruno gets poached by Real Madrid first of course.

Lage seems to be in favour of signing Moutinho to a contract extension thank goodness.

Where have you heard that?

I hope you're right. I think Moutinho staying will have an influence on Neves staying too.

I hope so too. To lose one starting midfielder may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness...

Lage is a puppet, sorry but he is. That doesn't mean he's not on balance done a good job or is out of his depth, but they knew what they were doing when they brought him in and although he needs to be reminded every now and then he knows his role. It's a sad, sad situation

Bruno may be able to veto purchases or make suggestions but he isn't the one writing the checks.

At the end of the day, every manager serves at the pleasure of the owner. I don't find our situation to be particularly unique in that regard.

They are employed more as Head Coaches these days rather than the old days where they were responsible for signing players, contract negotiations, etc though you would still like the Head Coach/Manager to have a say in what tools he is given rather than just being told to work with what he is given

The difference is if you get a manager that has any form of pull they can apply pressure in certain situations to get resources as and when required. One of Fosuns reasons for choosing Lage would have definitely been the lack of interest in him from clubs at our level. Which basically means he has to accept whatever cards he is dealt, if we qualify for Europe his stock will naturally rise and then it becomes a different story. He might not be so accepting of them having a word in his ear the next time he talks in the press about the players he requires.
