Summer 2022 Transfer Window

I mean there is an argument for how you move those X’s and O’s around much like Pep and Klopp do but Adama diesnt fit that mould.

Teams actively let him have the ball in his own half or by the touchline as they know he doesn’t do anything with it.

And the last thing Adama does is run onto through balls. I think I’ve seen him do it 3 times in a Wolves shirt.
I must be imagining those occasions when teams have shifted players across to provide extra defensive cover! He’s miles from perfect and I’d happily sell him but saying he wouldn’t have had any impact post-February is unfair to him.

He bases his movement around players, not spaces. That is his great limitation, IMO.

We could talk about people on Twitter saying Cutrone deserves another chance...

Adama doesn't have the tactical awareness to position himself in either threatening positions to draw defenders away nor the ability to run in behind. He doesn't have the intelligence, when he does draw multiple players in when he has the ball, to use the ball in such away to hurt the opposition. Until he gets the ball there is no need to double up on him, even when he does get the ball the end product is so often lacking that it doesn't really matter if he gets stopped or not.

They just put two players there to shepherd him to the byline. This is done for two reasons, 1. He just goes there then swings a loopy cross in that has a 1 in 50 chance or landing in a dangerous area. 2. Because they know he won't play a 1-2 or first time pass to another player making them pay for doing so.

He's not really had a chance has he. It's mainly his own doing, being a sulky prick however he's started about 5 games for us ain't he?

I think the ship has long sailed for Adama and I'm not sure he's really in Bruno's plans anyway (whatever the fuck they are), but it's sad to see the Doc-style derision from people towards him.

At significantly less than the price of a Fabio or Semedo, he's played a decent part in our PL campaigns IMO, and it's not as if we're a team packed with players who rack up impressive stats anyway. I always thought of him as a trier, and his conveniently ignored 19/20 PL assists output is still yet to be bettered.

Apart from Neto it's not like we've been blessed with productive wide options since we came up anyway. I'll certainly remember him more fondly than any of Hwang, Trincao or Podence

He doesn't start many wherever he goes, and it's not some conspiracy that he doesn't, it's because he's shit, which is also why none of the 3 clubs he's been on loan at have had any interest whatsoever of taking him permanently.

He's not a great footballer but I found it a bit odd us signing him at the time as he didn't fit the way we played. Most of his goals for Milan were from deeper crosses where he got across the first man and scored. He even scored in the u21 euros in the same way. He's very much a poacher who doesn't offer a lot other than running about and even then he's not exactly clinical.

I watched 4-5 of Cutrone's games for Empoli last season. Think I forgot he was playing during three of them.

And that disproves the point I was making how? I'd already said we know his end product is generally shit. But defenders aren't going to just push forward and let him run in behind them because they know that are they? They'll defend deeper. And because of that our own defence is under less pressure. Unless everything I've ever watched in 40 years of watching football has been my imagination

Think they're just as likely to prepare their players by showing them a highlight reel of Alan Hutton pocketing him for 180 minutes in the Play Offs.

He doesn't really fit the model we go for. Class finisher and has scored goals everywhere he's been though.

Who's that just someone random ?

Someone who knows as much as we do but I am thankful he has tweeted something that can be classed as a rumour.

Yeah just a random I follow. No idea if he’s just On a wind up or he’s heard anything. But his name (Ben Yedder) was doing the rounds recently. No idea if he’s any good but his stats are decent at least which at least a good starting point compared to our usual business.
