Summer 2022 Transfer Window

I’d say it certain that we won’t make any signings other than maybe a few kids.

Don’t forget the wheels are off. They came off in the second arsenal defeat and I haven’t seen any attempt to put them back on.

A bad first couple of games or a couple of serious injuries will see us absolutely fall apart.

Like you say, a good prospect and it's unfortunate, not on the same scale as losing Neves or Neto (again) though.

Every club has injuries. Definitely adds a little more urgency to the recruitment plan though.

It's tough for lad and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Doesn't really change what we need.

Gutted for Chiquinho, he definitely had a part to play this season. If Adama was looking likely to leave he probably needs to stay now and we still need to reinforce the spine of the team.

If we were going to be looking at a wideman it needed to be an upgrade on Podence anyway, so no real change, as gutting as it is for the lad. I don't think there was going to be too much between him and Campbell, one of them really needed a loan this season but presumably that'll be out of the question now which is a shame.

4 weeks until the season starts, we really do need to pull our fingers out though

Why I do not quite believe a "collision" with a burnley player caused this, I reckon it was more like a Brexit tackle!

Around the time of Newcastle away Lage said that Chiquinho and Campbell were around the same level. I doubt that is still the thoughts of the club after the impressive way Chiquinho ended the season though. I expect Traore will leave so even though there are definitely more pressing issues a wide player coming in definitely wouldn't go amiss now.

Yeah true. I ideally wanted one anyway as I don't particularly rate Podence, and Hwank isn't fit for purpose, but if money's tight that's got to be behind the improvements down the spine.

Could be that the second forward we get - I do think we need two - is on that's also comfortable playing off the left, like Broja. But realistically given the board have given up, we'll have to make do with choosing between Adama, Podence and Hwank. Not awful choices if midtable is the peak of expectation I suppose

I still think Adama will leave don't think he played yesterday and they'll probably want to recoup at least a bit of money for him.

I guess we'll have to see the formation Lage had gone for before we can judge what we need.

I don't doubt there's £10m out there for Adama, I do doubt whether there's the £120kpw he wants though

If chiquinho is out I wonder if we're having a look at Kaly Sene via Grasshoppers

Edit. For some reason Grasshoppers didn't buy him....odd

We have a recruitment plan?

Adama won't get the wages he wants if somebody has to pay for him. He'll be here for the season, and I don't think he's the sort of lad to down tools. I'm sure he'll be useful in spells, and I'm sure all of us still have that little bit hope that there's an unstoppable player in there that may just unlock at some point, despite years of evidence to the contrary!

They'll still get 10m or so for him easily.

In what world is someone paying 10m for him? He's available for nothing next year, he wants big wages. There's a reason we had to give him to Barcelona for fuck all last year.
