Summer 2022 Transfer Window

Talk of a new contract for Fábio before he goes out on loan.

It's got to be done unfortunately. Imagine spending £35m on him, as well as £70k a week for 4 years until he finally looks like he could have a decent PL career, and then losing him for nothing.

I'm pretty much addicted to drama and seethe so I'm sure a bit of me would get some value out of it, but bloody hell

There's a point whereby you have to come to a conclusion that you have to minimise your losses than gamble more on a return.

He is two years into a five year deal so there is no need to extend it.

Exactly, it's the sunk cost fallacy.

Nothing wrong with extending his contact during his loan spell if he's doing well.

Do we actually know what he’s on?

He would have been on a couple of grand tops at Porto. Why would we be suddenly putting him on a massive weekly wage? There would be no need. He wouldn’t expect it, and there is footballing logic do so. If we paid more than £5k a week we’d have had our pants down. Now I’m sure he is on more than that (because we are stupid), but it’s not going to be £70k.

The list of salaries put on here last season was about the £70k mark.

£37k or £80k according to this. Maybe £37k is more realistic. If you are signing for £35m your wages will be high regardless of what you were on before.

There was no real need for us to pay over £8m in agents fees when we signed him also, but we did.

Wouldn't surprise me we're paying over the odds salary too.

Ignore the fee. It’s completely irrelevant to Fabio Silva. A bung, Money laundering, whatever.

Given those sites are over 100% out from each other, then they are just bullshit guesses IMO. That’s what I’ll cling on to anyway. Would make even less sense than the original deal to pay him so ridiculously.

As Andy says. Anderlecht are probably unable to pay more than £30-40k p/w.

Don’t let them off that lightly. €16m to intermediaries!

Hold on people, Wolves twitter following has dropped 1. You know what that means....People convinced a signing is done despite it never leading to a new arrival and just a bit more of fuck all happening.

I don’t think they’ll see MGW or Fabio leaving as weakening the squad as they didn’t play much of a part last season. Genuinely don’t think we’ll sign anyone - at best it’ll be another Chiquinho/Mosquera type

So how do you reconcile that with Anderlecht paying all of his wages?
More Wolves bullshit, no doubt.

Desperately trying - again - to justify his signing.

You’re right, I’d be surprised if Anderlect could even afford to pay him much over £10k a week.

And there’s absolutely zero chance he’s on anywhere near that.

Nah, the logic's gonna be we could let Fabio go out on loan because we plan to play Hwang as our main striker, and MGW has come in to fill the squad space for one of the wide attackers now we're down both Hwang and Trincao in those spots.

To save me time as been in meetings all day Is the Fabio loan fact or rumour please?

My Portuguese is rubbish, is it too much to hope that last sentence means “ Bruno large has been shown the door and told to jog on?”

At this point I'd consider the Ramos thing someone putting 2 & 2 together

Itk Liam says it's on but not done. Wonder if it's only confirmed if we remember how to sign players
