Haha, you're having a laugh, everyone knows it's England's divine right to be the most despised team in world sport, which ever sport that may be.I know. We will be the least liked team in world football now.
Zinchenko would be an absolutely perfect signing for us - exactly what we need - young, quick, good on the ball and versatile. Would add winning experience too.
But, again, let’s get real - the bloke probably has more trophies than our entire squad put together and so they’ll be loads of interest. Namely from either CL Clubs (abroad) or clubs ready to pay bigger bucks (Everton, Newcastle etc).
I know there’s probably loads involved and that we don’t understand but i don’t understand why we don’t sit down, identify targets and then actively go out and get them? It feels like we always wait, get into sone sort of bidding war…..and inevitably lose out.
Zinchenko for example - for me - would be the most obvious, ideal signing out there.
He’d cost £25m and, say, £120k a week.
Perfect age, ideal player and totally affordable.
Watch Newcastle sign him.
I’ve got to disagree with you here, Mark.I don't see that he'd really improve Wolves, or anyone really, all that much.
He looks perfectly fine at City as a small cog in a massive, extremely well oiled, machine. You follow Pep's very regimented instructions, you've got bunch of the world's very best around you, drawing significant attention away from you and who can pick you out at their whim when you're free. He'd need to do much more than to improve the team and stand out at Wolves, buzzing about playing 15 yard passes with stationary wingbacks and central midfield partners isn't going to achieve much.
That's not to say he's a bad player, there's nothing wrong with him as such but it's just a very different proposition playing a supporting role alongside the very best compared to trying to lift the average. You see some players who struggle with the opposite switch too, take Zaha for example, great as a big finish in a small pond but he bombed horrifically at a big club.
I’ve got to disagree with you here, Mark.
Anyone who is a regular in Man City’s side, with a bucket load of trophies, is easily walking into this current Wolves side - make no bones about that.
Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here.
Not sure if you thought it was me that was bashing him. For the record, I’m not - he’s excellent, but as I rightly pointed out he’s not coming here.He wanted to fight for his Man City place. That's commendable rather than something to bash him with.
Because when we first wanted him he felt he could still get into his preferred midfield position at City. And so he wanted to fight for that. Not sure if you thought it was me that was bashing him. For the record, I’m not - he’s excellent, but as I rightly pointed out he’s not coming here.
I like him, Stoke fans thought he was like John Stones. We're being linked to Nathan Collins again (in The Sun). I don't actually know that much about him tbh, would he be the right profile for us?
The report I heard from a Stoke fan who knows his stuff - rare I know - was he was far too good for Stoke and had everything you want in a CH which is why I wanted us to sign him last year. He was half the price of Botman too.I like him, Stoke fans thought he was like John Stones.
Yes. We can let him get over his injury and then let someone else buy him next summer.Isn’t the other centre back, who had an injury, meant to be very good too? Souttar?
