They've not cemented themselves unassailably as the first choice trio though, surely? We're not exactly wowing the PL with our attacking and goalscoring prowess so far

yep, agree with this. They’ve had good moments, but the fact we’ve scored so few goals tells you they’re not untouchable, let alone the last game where we created very little.

I think this match is a really tough call. I would take any sort of win, ugly ,deflected goal, late penalty.

But I would rather oddly prefer a point and a good performance from us and them! I think it is important to bounce back after Leicester especially creatively. I know there are different opinion on here but nobody thought we did anything positive in the first half against them.

So a good positive start that includes movement at pace and support from midfield is essential. I agree with Johnny 3412 is the best way with the personnel we have and Traore in from the left in a two as a second half substitute would get my vote.

We will need to play well to win and create much more than we have done recently in first halves. We are capable ,however, and hope springs eternal.

2-1

These are the sort of matches we should be winning.

We are a better team than them and they are missing at least one key player.

Nuno needs to do his job and instil some confidence in the players and hopefully we'll get a couple of goals and come away with 3 points.

(training video)

Other than obviously Coady, doesn't appear to be Saiss or Dendoncker involved today(?). Doesn't mean they will miss the game Monday but was quite interesting watching some of the games they were doing. Just had Semedo-Boly-Kilman-RAN as the back line. Which I assume means Coady just slots in if he is able to play. Be weird watching us in a back four if Coady couldn't play - more likely any one of Donck/Hoever/Saiss/Marcal would just come into the back three though.

Boly played in the middle of a back three for Ivory Coast by all accounts.

So maybe he'd go there and Hoever as RCH? Although Spiers reckons Coady will be available.

Probably be Willy. Kilman played there for the U23s a fair bit when he first joined too but be a bit of a leap, as well as he has done in recent performances

Marques has been training with the first team as Coadys deputy apparently, could be a shock debut?

(I doubt it, but would be quite cool)

From a footballing perspective, let's hope it's not Patricio!

Saiss or Donk are the most likely candidates.

The mere thought of Ruddy having to play highlights the need for a proper backup keeper in January. Its a must.

Have they not announced who it is yet?
