Southampton (A) 13.04.2019

Doc not interested in getting the right side of Redmond either

We all knew Southampton would get at us early, and we’re 1-0 down within 2 minutes. Absolutely shocking defending.

Massive task ahead of us now.

Definitely a big challenge. Must not let heads drop, and try and get back into the game as quickly as possible.

Should be a fucking yellow... Wanking ref
Our player does that in 15 mins and its a yellow.. Time shouldn't matter.

Excellent (if miles offside) chance for Donk. But the linesman didn't flag so I guess it would have counted.

would rather they hadn' scored, bu that goal will surely focus wolves, and so far according to comms we are back into it. now we will see what character this team has.

I said before the game, let's not gift them an early goal like Burnley, and it's identical.

Saiss just awful ball watching.

That's worse than ball watching for me, he looked over his left shoulder to see where Redmond was before Sims crossed it but he was still completely flat footed and easily beaten to it in the end. He knew Redmond was behind him so he's got to make the effort to attack the ball and clear it, you can't just stand there hoping the man doesn't try to run across you.

Doherty shouldn't have been anywhere near defending that goal, he's got nothing to do with it.

Oh dear, a repeat of the lackadaisical start against Burnley. Shocking start again.

Hadn't even got the app commentary on and already losing when I did. This has all the makings of frustrating 2-0 defeat all over it I fear.

We have been very, very sloppy.

since the saints goal, wolves seem in control, i think we will do this.

We’ve played very well in all honesty. Should have done better with the openings. Just every now and then we have a lapse in concentration and make silly errors

We're playing ok, just the odd off touch is slowing us down. Boly has improved in the last 10, he was all over the shop for the first 15.

Lots of competent possession play but not a great deal of threat coming from it yet.

As has happened previously in these types of games, Southampton's back five defending the full width of the pitch making it difficult to really get the wingbacks involved particularly with the early switch of play that's usually central to Wolves' game. There's an advantage to be had in central midfield up against Ward-Prowse and Hojbjerg but it needs Neves to step forward and create that overload, at the minute he's a bit too comfortable just sitting in the pocket like a QB, not going to be massively effective from that position without the space for wingbacks to be picked out.
