Debating within reason is absolutely fine but calling the best team most gave us have seen in our lifetime who are sixth in the Premier League and into the knockout stages in Europe ‘shameful’ and ‘embarrassing’ etc will always cause friction as it’s not exactly reasoned is it? Yes we were poor in the first half, nobody has argued that, but we were far from ‘depressing’. And as you said not everyone will agree, so while admitting we were poor will generally be the consensus it’s also understandable when people take issue with hyperbole.
Knee jerk reactions are fine in the heat of the moment but posters should be prepared to be called out on it, especially if it’s at the level it was on Saturday. That’s part of the debate. The fact that people who have moaned then moan about people moaning about them is quite ironic but there you go.
The tone does need raising though, probably best if people wait until 90 minutes to slag us off, that would negate most of the back and forth.
