Sheff Wed 0-2 Wolves: The Verdict

I wouldn't think he's wasted there at all. We need ball players in all positions, especially with a two man midfield we will need defenders to push up at times to maintain pressure.

Good point, at the moment we are overly reliant on Boly bringing the ball forward, which in turn makes space for Jonny & Jota. If we had similar on the right we'd be more balanced and more of a threat

And sadly this is where Bennett's capabilities end, hes been solid and reliable so far but we need more than that now. Boly getting forward is vital to how we play and having that threat both sides and better ball retention will make a massive difference. I hope the Thelwell comments were just to keep the expectations down a bit I hope to see him in the first team sooner rather than later.

Eventually he will play there, I'm sure, and it will make a difference. However for now he's still settling in and Bennett is letting absolutely no-one down. He has had a superb start to the season in three tough games (with a total ninny outside him as well).

I’ve just seen a clip of Traore’s run to set up a chance for MGW, it was phenomenal!

Come on Captain Buzzfeed, sort it out.

It’s a decent run but his turn, dribble and pass to set up Gibbs-White opportunity in second half was much better

Good man.

He's a serious oddball of a footballer (I have absolutely no comparator for him) but you can see what he brings (sometimes).

It looks to me from those clips and what I saw against City that Adama is going to spend one minute making me want to take him outside the ground and kill him, and the next making me want to take him outside the ground and marry him.

Tbf I think he’s already set up a good 5/6 good chances in the time he’s been on the pitch for us, compared to what I saw of him before last season that’s a big improvement. I’m pleased to see him running inside a bit too, was worried he’d always just go outside and head to the byline.

That is a good point. Maybe our system will suit him more than elsewhere in this country.

It's the ratio that's important, that type of player will never do it 100% of the time. He'll have to learn how to contribute when it's not going his way.

He's got to stay further up the pitch. Against Leicester he was just standing around on halfway and waiting for someone to give him the ball so he could go on one of his pointless runs. We don't want that. We'll give you the ball 20-30 yards further forward that, and you go and do something tangible.

We cannot play him on the right at the moment (or at least start him there). Him and Doc on that side, no thank you.

Maybe with Dendoncker as right CB we could? Against the lesser teams?

For the big boys, Adama is the impact sub to fuck them up when they are knackered.

I can see his use as an impact sub against teams that will push up the pitch looking for a goal late on. But in any scenario where we are at home against a team sitting back or one that is defending a lead I can't see where we would get any use from him. I can only really see his purpose off the bench really, never to start.

Because he can dribble past players, commit them and make them look silly wherever he wants? Stephen ward can sit as deep as he likes when Burnley come to town. Adama will destroy him

Yeah, what’s the use of someone who can beat his full back and pick out the forward, completely pointless when you need a goal...

Never did that consistently at Boro though.

Once Pulis came in last season he was a different player and he was consistent, something just clicked with him and you can see that already in his performances here. He's played just over a game and a half for us and created 5 or 6 decent chances, got an assist and opposition sides have looked scared of him. He went round Chilwell countless times against Leicester and it took 3 or 4 to stop him, had 2 chances to beat Mendy on Saturday and went round him both times and then last night Sheff Wed couldn't get near him half of the time and just resorted to kicking him. Honestly it might not end up looking as promising as it does now but he's already shown that paying £18 million for him was worth the risk as he can be unplayable when he's really on it and i'm convinced he's going to get better.
