I dunno, Cass hangs onto me for dear life getting into and out of J1, it's absolutely rammed.

I'm now very close to moving to the camp that I have better things to do with my time and money than watch football as drab as Hoddle's. If going forward Fosun don't start to invest in a bit of quality for the here and now their asset will depreciate rapidly so they need to decide what they want. Even if they want comfortable mid-table and a flow of income from Sky they need to pull their socks up because without some good recruitment I'm certain we'll be looking down not up next season In transfer terms we've stood still for far too long and we all know what happens when teams do that. Today we started with a back three that was with us in the Championship and a midfield three from nearly four years ago. Time to put up or shut up about their ambitions as actions speak louder than words.

Maybe one of the unsuccessful bidders for Chelsea would like a "project...

The issue is we will finish top half this season. They won't have a clue that it's built in sand and won't make the appropriate actions

We have 11,000 fans just itching to watch us lose 20 times a season, don't you know.

I'm 70/30 on no in general terms but if Lage stays it's nearer 99/1 against.

I saw the trains were one an hour due to Bank Holiday this morning and sincerely thought about binning it off and going home, I didnt but I thought about it because I knew the train would be a sweaty over crowded mess and could I be fucked to suffer through that followed by a dour 0-0. I went but just finding myself thinking it isn't worth the hassle. If we have more Lage I'll look to share/loan my season ticket I think so I don't lose my seat by my dad/get locked out by the 11000 waiting desperately for a seat.

Same. Which is a real shame as I’ve loved the last few seasons, but this is just utterly garbage. And you just know we’re just going to get ripped off.

If Lage goes I'm definitely more likely to renew.
On what basis though?

We took an attacking manager, gave him no players that he wanted, and watched him revert back to the only system the players know how to play without getting over-run every week.

What makes you think it'd be any different under a new manager?

You’d imagine that even the most basically competent manager might have a slight idea about in-game changes. Just read that we’ve had the ‘pleasure’ of paying £40 per home goal this season. Given I missed Watford I’ve paid considerably more. It’s fucking shit.

“Attacking manager” has very limited evidence…

What system are they reverting to? There isn’t one?

Good managers work with what they got. Someone could counter that and say “we’re 8th FFS”, but it’s always been a false postion.

He’s not dealing with a bunch of no hopers. The only two no hopers are the ones he signed.

Hope springs eternal I suspect is the main reason. I’ve seen enough of Lage’s tactics to be confident that if he stays next season the football will be dull. He’s all about tactics and lacks the other quality a good manager needs, the ability to inspire and motivate. If he goes I’d give the new manager my backing like I have Lage and there would also be a bit of concern about FOMO.

I'm fucking glad I cannot afford it any more. Because that was abysmal.

He's not 'an attacking manager' is he. He managed one of the top three in Portugal who habitually batter 70% of the league. He was a glorified caretaker there too. Well done.

He has come to Wolves and played awful football.

For the first time since 2006 Im now considering my seat for next season. You may laugh at this, but I decided to do a Rail Gala at the Great Central today instead of Wolves and I absolutely enjoyed my day and for the same price as my match ticket...

Im really sad at the thought of losing my seat, however I cant be chained to this decision if we continue the same path..

To me it's a lack of harmony and the only way to change that is swapping the manager or a fair chunk of the squad.

This squad suits conservative football, they're not athletic enough nor adventurous enough to play expansive football. Nuno set them up to do exactly that, everyone was singing from the same hymn sheet. Whatever he asked of them they could commit to fully because it aligned to their nature and strengths.

Lage's principles are a bit of an unknown but the points/goals achieved at Benfica would suggest they preferred to play on the front foot. His record there paints a very different picture to what we had of Nuno from his time at Porto at least. It takes a lot of work to establish a symbiotic relationship when parties are coming from fairly widely removed starting points.

I was pretty surprised by some of the football early on, it wasn't groundbreaking but there was enough difference from the last few seasons to be noticable. Passing was quicker, movement more varied and there was even pressing early doors! I didn't expect this squad to embrace that, certainly not so quickly. We then saw the results become an issue though, three games, no points, no goals and I think this is where the cracks begin to appear, you apply some pressure to that rocky new relationship and people revert to their original mindset. If people are going to start criticising and questioning you then you'll naturally return to the position you have more faith in, one that you can argue and defend with more heart.

I think we saw that change made, the press ended and things slowed back down, results improved and everyone went along with it. Players now happy they're getting their way and manager content enough that he's picking up results. Now results have gone away and it's the manager who's in a failing position with no faith in what he's doing, players lost faith in him and his original plan. There's pretty much nowhere to go at this point unless something bonkers happens that changes the mood significantly or the people above make a change.

If there's no appetite to significantly alter the balance of this squad, in terms of mentality, then the only way I see they can go is back to a more conservative manager. Everyone back signing from the same hymn sheet, relatively dull but at least functional, doesn't seem much of a dream to me.

There was nothing dull about being a side the top 6 viewed as a bastard child that was ruining their party. I utterly loved that, our struggles were breaking down the teams that sat back, but now our struggles are seemingly everyone.

I'd say he is, even based on one season. He set the record for Benfica's biggest ever league victory (10-0) and equalled a 56 year old league goals scored record. I'd say that qualifies him as someone who sets up to attack and scores goals.

And he did with us at the start. We had ridiculous amounts of shots in the first few games but had to reign it in when he realised the players couldn't score the goals he wanted. Since then it has been obvious pragmatism. He may only have a plan A, but his current plan A isn't the one he wants to play, purely because he's been let down in recruitment.

I'm still of the opinion that this season has been an improvement over last. Sa coming in has been a major factor, allowing the defence to improve to a point where its mitigated the goals scored column.

I'm not oblivious to the fact that the last few games have been atrocious though. Its like the entire squad has just dropped its performance by 10-20%. Whether that's down to fatigue or apathy from a few of them I don't know.

I'm still in the "wait and see" camp for next season, based on who leaves and who comes in. If they aren't going to give Lage the squad he wants then they may as well just get rid of him and bring in someone who is happy playing back foot football.

Only a moron would think the first 3 games weren’t an anomaly. If we’d have a carried on in the same vein we’d have been fine.

Particularly when two of the results were dictated by the worlds statistically best keeper making howlers +/- bad refereeing decisions.

Plus it was against on paper 3 of the better teams in the league.
