Will you renew?

I dunno man.

I've been moaning about it since 2021 (paying more to watch a Lage team having sacked our best manager in decades was the first time it really stuck in the craw) but broadly speaking the tone I got in return was that it was fine, that goes for 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Very very different today.

They are the same thing. They aren't just saying "here you go Jeff just do whatever you want." There will be discussions about the financial side at the very least, whether they give a shit about the playing side or not.
Agree to a point - They have set his targets but they do leave him to do what what he wants to achieve them. That's the Fosun model on investments

Why I want a change there first is simply because of what we get from Jeff. How he was sat down and said "computer, write me an article where I look clever, mention a film, and then move on to how fair and reasonable I have been" and then he cowardly releases the prices and some of them are obscene going right up to immoral.
Fosun out is all well and good but its not a simple fix is it, for many reasons - but having a person at the top who has a basic understanding of football and is able to speak to the fans in a proper way is a lot easier to solve

It's only easier if it's a problem they want to solve. I don't think they're bothered.

Has anybody got around to putting a fair guess on how much extra revenue this will realise (under the unlikely assumption that we sell all season tickets)? And then how much that compares to the "surprise" £5m parachute windfall?

Very loose maths but average increase of £145 and multiply that by 23,000 gives out 3.4m

Until now agree - Done what they wanted from him BUT in all that he has generally had the majority of fans onside. If today is anything to go by, he hasn't got that majority.
Having fans against will start to create issues with what Fosun want from him. I hope we fucking slaughter him to make them notice

Apathy is easy to deal with for Shi, anger definitely isn't. And he hasn't experienced that yet.

Although he's priced the angry folk away from the ground!

Like I’ve said before, all it needs is a catchy chant to take off in the South Bank.

“Sellars, Sellars, you’re a Cunt” seemed to do the trick.

Fuck off with this.

I can be up in arms and still renew - the two aren't mutually exclusive. I think the increases/total cost now is a disgraceful, embarrassing piss take but it is my club, my team and my money. I will continue to watch the matches in spite of Jeff Shi not because of him, but don't say that it makes me an apologist for him and I'll be quietly happily paying it.

I prioritise going to matches with my friends and family above concerts, new clothes, nice cars, expensive watches etc., etc. and while I can still just afford it it doesn't mean I agree with it and that I don't understand that others don't have the funds or can't justify the outlay.

If my health holds I will be going long after Shi and his senior management team of apologists have gone. So please don't judge me if I decide to renew - I won't be 'quietly paying it'.

I agree, i meant they'll be up in arms, say they've had enough with it, and then renew.

However in answer to your second point, I don't understand how someone can simultaneously think the prices are a disgrace and that they're being taken the piss out of, but still pay it?

I don't want to give it up but also have sympathy for others that have been priced out because of greed. I will still renew mine but I don't have to be happy about what they've done.

Annoyingly I can afford to pay the increase but you have to draw a line somewhere and for me this, as a principle, goes too far and therefore I won’t pay it.

Other people can draw their lines as they see fit and hold there nose as they renew.

Never paid £8 for a pint then?!

I think I addressed that. Just because I'm not happy with something and have empathy with others that aren't either or can afford to be, doesn't mean that I can't continue if I don't want to stop going.

Following Wolves home and away has been a massive part of my life for over 25 years.

Yes, I do think the price increase “is a disgrace/taking the piss” but I will still renew.

The alternative of not renewing I just don’t think is an option for me. I luckily can still afford to go and Wolves is by far my main hobby expense wise. I just can’t see myself following it every game on a dodgy stream two minutes behind the action arguing on the matchday thread.

So, I’ll have a moan, suck it up and renew before the deadline or it auto renews for me.

By the way I'm not judging anyone who does renew - I could if I wanted to, I'm 95% sure I'm not, that is up to me.

I'll be back one day.

I'm not going anywhere off here.
