He's been working on radio wm's commentary team for weeks now, so the next career is being built.
Has to be said he's been a fine captain. I think his work last year with the younger players deserves acknowledging.

Gary Breen, Micky Gray, Sam Ricketts, all brought in to do a short term job, all did it brilliantly and move on with the best wishes of Wolves fans.
It's important the manager knows when the time is right to reluctantly say goodbye to ageing players and not let sentiment cloud matters. Ricketts has actually played alright in the games I have seen him this season but at the same time he has been on the losing team every time - Ken sees him every day and must have decided that this is a year too long at this level.

Would love to see him kept involved in a coaching role, but i imagine Sam would fancy another year or two playing. Excellent professional who was a massive part of turning the club around and getting us back on track. A very worthy Wolves captain.
