Rotherham (H) Build Up

all the pundits keep raving on about him as how he's 'the best in the league for ghosting in late' . if he's that fucking good he should have at least 25 goals this season !!!!

I more than support Bright > Edwards.

However, a point about him getting his head up, looking for a pass etc - Shouldn't you be doing that at 19 already? From the bits I've seen he looks very much like he stares down at his own fancy feet, then gets his head up last second, and happily shoves it onto someone else who might or might not be marked closely or in a good position to take the ball.

Hope he gets time AND improves but as I said, not getting your head up isn't really an age thing is it.

Nah...Lambert's a dickhead, suckered in by "Deadly Dave"s reputation as the great goalscorer

It's just bizarre management. Something that we've had all season with both our managers. Give somebody a run of games then bomb them out of the squad again. At times players have gone from playing one match to not being in the 16 for the next match. The only thing can be of benefit to Bright right now is game time.

I'd rather have Cav or Ronan at No. 10 personally. We need Cav at LB at the minute though until Graham comes back.

Someone described him as like a kid in the playground previously, I think that's bang on. I'm not against him playing on Saturday and would definitely start him ahead or Edwards, but I'd prefer to see Weimann or Cav there.

Which he got on Monday so hopefully he'll be in contention for Saturday, and again on Tuesday.

I don't think Bright has been ditched or anything like that - he's very much in Lambert's plans. I said in the OP that I'd start him v Rotherham but I don't think trying to gradually introduce a very raw yet talented 19 year old into a Championship squad - and being involved more often than not - is bizarre management.

As a slight aside, I think people expect too much of him as well sometimes. He's clearly a very talented young player but I've read several posts/tweets etc about him 'not being good enough with no end product' which is an incredibly premature thing to say.

I don't wish to reignite the intro forum rivalry we saw the other day but I've genuinely just seem somebody over there speculate that Costa is 'the new doumbia' because Lambert asserted tiredness for the reason he was dropped to the bench... I despair.

I would try weimann at 10

“If you watch a game of football and you understand it, you will see that we have been unlucky to lose the last few games before Ipswich,”

Fuck off, Marshall.

Thing is Bright started quite a few games when we were playing better as far as I remember. Since he's been dropped we've been playing shit and got ourselves in trouble and now it seems like Lambert doesn't trust him in a relegation battle even though he was fine before.

Fuck off, Marshall.

It's inelegantly phrased but he isn't far wrong. Make no mistake, we were dire against Burton (as far as I could work out) and Wigan but you'd be hard pushed to say the opposition deserved to win either game. We didn't deserve to lose against Newcastle and by all accounts nor did we against Reading. Blues we did deserve to lose.

That's not to excuse any of the performances or results at all, but we haven't been soundly beaten in any of the games, we aren't taking batterings and we aren't getting comprehensively outplayed.

The "if you understand it" line is dickish but he's not wrong really is he?

We apparently played well enough vs Reading to deserve a point at least, would've had a point against Blues if it wasn't for Ikeme and dominated the 2nd half (albeit against 10 men), Wigan snatched an undeserved win in the last minute and the ref fucked us against Newcastle.

I don't think we've been playing well but on the balance of play we were incredibly unlucky to lose 5 on the bounce.

Edit: Ninja'd

Losing 6 on the spin was unlucky, but I saw all the games except Reading and we didn't deserve to win any of them either. I posted on here the reasonable saves we forced during that run on another thread it was:
Burton 0
Wigan 2
Newcastle 1 (and that was generous)
Chelsea 0
Blues 1

You're forgetting Dicko's shot in the first half from the edge of the area which needed a good save against Burton.

+ Saville vs Chelsea. I know the keeper didn't save it but it was close.

He is wrong and he's a prick for thinking he knows more than others. We have deserved to lose every game, sometimes due to pattern of play, sometimes due to piss poor execution. Mainly we've deserved to lose because we've made piss poor decisions at crucial times. Players relying on luck are bad players with weak minds. There is no luck involved in cause and effect and I am always minded of Gary Players quote on practice.

The one case for a decision going against us is Newcastle but we do not know what would've happened had they not scored, but we do know we didn't create anything like enough chances when we went that goal down.

So Nando's right. Marshall should fuck off and I would happily put my knowledge against his every day of the week.

It's the "if you understand it" comment I'm raising issue with.

It sounds like we played well against Reading, but that's no use if we're going to defend like we did for the McShane goal. Conceding goals in that manner is appalling irrespective of looking half threatening going forward and it doesn't make you unlucky. It's park standard stuff.

I'm more worried about the Rotherham game than any other this season. Especially after reading the comments on here. I really do hate to be so pessimistic. Rotherham have only won one point away from home all season, so why can I just see us losing it 1-0 ? Well, we still have the worst home record in the league, which for a club like Wolves is an absolute disgrace and surely Rotherham have to win away from home sooner or later ?

I will take an ugly win of any kind in a dreadful game. Just please, Wolves, win this bloody game ! Is it really too much to ask for ?
