Because it isn't good enough to be playing the likes of MK/Rotherham and setting up in such a defensive way, especially when it means one of our two main strikers (who would get in most teams in the division) not playing. Obviously I haven't been today but we evidently didn't create much again and if we keep setting up this way - especially against the weakest teams in the league - we'll continue to underperform. Three welcome points for sure, but that is not the way forward in terms of tactics or personnel, the win doesn't automatically mask all the flaws in the approach. I don't want us starting that way on Friday either.
By the way I'm not dead against 4-2-3-1 as a system in itself, however the way we've played it this season (as opposed to the previous two years) is all wrong. It relies on pace and technical ability behind the striker, we've been picking players who don't fit the bill and/or totally wasting Afobe there. Hence our miserable goals scored record.
