Rotherham 1 v Wolves 2 at least its 3 points verdict thread

Win the next two and things start to look rosy. We know KJ takes his time rectifying problems (see November and start of December last year) and I'm still split. I don't want it to end sour with him, but I desperately want him to turn it around. To do so, we need to have a strong December and make some important signings in January, once again similarly to last year.

A bit like 'sing when we're winning' you mean?, there's argument that Teams need even more support when things aren't going well.

To be fair - our support (from what I could hear over the net) sounded more than fine today - completely out sung the opposition ( & I am aware that that is not a big stadium with not that many on the other side - though also not a massive number from us either)

Not wanting to come over all "superfan" but have you been to a game and seen our fans this season? IMO we've been surprisingly patient given the expectations.

Atmosphere was pretty good today in the Wolves end with a varied repertoire of songs being sung. There were plenty there though who'd just gone for a day on the beer and probably couldn't give two hoots what the score was. Made the mistake of popping to the loo at half time to be faced with "yoofs" throwing their £3.60 pints of lager over each other. Each to their own.

Darlo and Lycan ;-)

Oh and I was waiting for a piss at the cubicle and was standing around for 5 minutes thinking somebody was in it and there wasn't.

Just to make clear the yoofs weren't in the bogs throwing beer over themselves, that would be plain stupid.

To be overly clear; I bought the half time beers and there would have been serious words had they been throwing those beers at each other!

£3.60 for a pint of lager...!! I would not pay 60p for a pint of Lager.

Oops sorry, wrong thread...!!

Because it isn't good enough to be playing the likes of MK/Rotherham and setting up in such a defensive way, especially when it means one of our two main strikers (who would get in most teams in the division) not playing. Obviously I haven't been today but we evidently didn't create much again and if we keep setting up this way - especially against the weakest teams in the league - we'll continue to underperform. Three welcome points for sure, but that is not the way forward in terms of tactics or personnel, the win doesn't automatically mask all the flaws in the approach. I don't want us starting that way on Friday either.

By the way I'm not dead against 4-2-3-1 as a system in itself, however the way we've played it this season (as opposed to the previous two years) is all wrong. It relies on pace and technical ability behind the striker, we've been picking players who don't fit the bill and/or totally wasting Afobe there. Hence our miserable goals scored record.

I totally agree with this..you have to switch your tactics/formation according to the opposition. The good thing is we came up with three pts but could have been even better, playing wise

Today isn't a day to beat kj round the head. Odd dropping Afobe but we got the result.
Eel was probably a surprising motm but Graham is a very close second! It's immeasurable how much playing a proper left sided player improves us!

After a nights sleep, I'm amending my motm nomination to Graham, 2 assists and looked dangerous.

Eel still played well though, showed far more desire than Batth.

Against the poor sides you can get away with using a system which suits the defenders and holding midfield players. When you need to ask questions those front four positions are still a work in progress for Kenny Jackett. Until he finds solutions in that respect this season will remain patchy in performance reflecting in an under achieving points total.

Seemed to be someone requiring medical attention to the left of the goal in the second half. Anyone know what happened and if the fan was ok?

It was pretty close to us but we couldn't quite see what was happening.

Not sure what happened but he got up and walked out so I think he was fine.

Not a perfect performance but a vital 3 points and some encouraging signs.

Graham motm although he was quiet second half. Price would've been motm as he didn't put a foot wrong and some of his passing was exceptional but we hardly passed to him. Criminally underused. I genuinely belive we had two of the best ball playing midfielders in the league starting yesterday but you'd never have known it from watching that.

Oh and can we please desist with this awful 'Jihadi John is fuckin dead' chant.
