I'm playing devil's advocates here a little, but i'd seen plenty say we need to go for it more, as in we may as well, we are down anyway.

We are a poor team, to have a chance of winning games we need to lockdown for an hour and hope we can sneak a win, just like a bloody L1 team in the cup against a Prem team.

The thing is i’m all for “going for it”, however 4 at the back doesn’t actually mean it has to be more attacking if you set up deep, what it should mean is that you’ve got one better footballer on the pitch. Unfortunately for us the extra footballer in that selection was basically Hwang who not one fan would pick and i doubt many would pick Doc to play right back either yet this is what Edwards did.

Exactly. We could play 343 (which suits our current personel better) going to 4 isn't the silver bullet of "this means we are attacking"

Agreed it isn’t but 343 basically becomes 523 though again very quickly when we get pushed back, it also means we’ve got 3 centre backs again who aren’t great so having 3 of them play just isn’t the answer. Massively struggling at left wing back too as neither of them are good enough there and Rodrigo would have to get through some work on the other side as there is only possibly Lima that could deputise.

For me you play 3 of Andre, Joao, Angel and Jean in midfield. Mane one side and then either Armstrong or Rodrigo the other of Tolu. I personally would like to see that happen as i would love us to move away from 3 centre backs next season and we can start looking at that now.

Although it has made us more attacking when we've gone 1-0 down (multiple times) and taken a defender off.

I don't think we're suited to any formation I mean how key are wingbacks in a three CH system, and we don't have any that are up to standard. And if we play a midfield two with the Brazilians (who ability wise, ARE good enough), we don't have any creativity whatsoever from that area (Neves and Moutinho would be classed as DMs, especially by the time Joao arrived here, but they created tons)

People crap on about it being Nuno’s system, this is nothing like Nuno’s system. It’s stodgy and boring, and none of our CBs are remotely able to play the Coady role.

I'm no RE supporter, I wouldn't have appointed him and I wouldn't keep him. Being further behind isn't something to judge him by though, that's just basic extrapolation because the squad is shite and in a number of instances has an equally shite attitude.

Maybe. We had two (2!) points when he joined. Just improving us slightly and becoming more consistent would have closed the gap. The teams above us aren’t very good. To have only mustered a further 6 points and then picking a back four with Matt Doherty at right back and Hwang starting every week should have alarm bells ringing for all concerned.

We got zero new manager bounce, even if we managed to shit out a few clean sheets.

Burnley aren't very good. They were 8 points above us when Edwards took over and they're 7 points above us now. The biggest factor in them having a cushion between them and bottom is us somehow losing to them at home under Pereira when they weren't even trying to score.

West Ham are running at exactly 1PPG since Nuno took over and everyone else is doing better than that over the course of the season. That's absolutely miles beyond this squad, whoever is in charge.
