Rob Edwards - the prodigal son returns

I don't see the point in perpetual misery.

We all know the story, Jinky was ridiculed for going on in the summer yet it seems fine for it to happen now with loads of posters.

Why not talk about how it could possibly improve?

We have a striker who scored 14 Prem goals last season, his form can't get any worse than it's been this season, same with Agbadou.

Tolu will surely play more too.

There are things that can improve, we know Andre and Gomes are much better than their form too.

But yes, fuck Jeff Shi.

I have to admire your commitment to the positive vibe. I think it's optimistic in the extreme, keep it up.
And i don't think I'm being particularly positive, do I think we will probably go down, yes. Do I think we are definitely down after 11 games, no way.

If the players have given up in the same way a lot of fans on here have then its going to be a thoroughly miserable 27 games and 6 months.

It wasn't a criticism, I genuinely dont mind optimism in the face of adversity. I just dont see how it changes enough with the players we have, especially as the likes of West Ham and Forest have started picking up points.

RE loved a cross at Forest Green and Luton, over a thousand with Forest Green and in the 800s with Luton in the Prem, he made Morris look like a genuine Prem striker and Adebayo too, if he can get Tolu and JSL near to their potential we have a chance.

What is clear is that we absolutely lack creativity though, so being direct and playing aggressive, direct football will get around that to a degree.

I also wonder if RE will go for Barkley in January.
That would be good.

To be fair to Wolves fans, we've been in limbo for a couple of weeks now and there's nothing to hold on to or even really talk about apart from wishful thinking. Edwards is coming in as no kind of inspirational choice either, in fact quite a cynical one. Add to that one of the worst groups of players we've had in years in any division, and it's (to quote DW) 'thin gruel' indeed.

When we've played some games, there may be some green shoots of positivity from the way we play, some positive results, players getting some form or surprising us etc, but we actually have to see that, not just fantasise about it. We're currently deservedly rock bottom of the league by every metric

I mean I could talk about how things could improve but I'm not going to gaslight myself into believing it!

I think it's slightly easier to do when you don't have to go to the games and pay for the privilege of doing so... I'm finding it really challenging this season to summon up any kind of interest in going... I'm already not looking forward to traveling to the game tomorrow... it's fuckin miserable!

I would agree with this, however, you don't HAVE to.

I've been going for so long now I've got Stockholm Syndrome...

For the first time I have contemplated jackin it in when this season is done, but I'd still like a football fix.

If i lived closer to where I grew up I'd go to Halesowen Town but if I'm giving up on Wolves then I want to cut down on the traveling

I live in Lichfield so I looked at Tamworth. Two things though...1. It's Tamworth...2. A season ticket is still around £470.

So I looked at Lichfield City. I can be there and back from the match in 10 minutes, so that's already looking good! A season ticket is £170, already looking better! And last time I looked they were third in the league, so they win games!!

So maybe I'll spend my time there...

I’m in for the best part of £2K and almost entire day trips for my whole family every home game. But yeah, technically I don’t HAVE to go, I could just flush it down the can. Of course it makes some kind of difference, and it’s a rather theoretical position to say I’m not legally obliged to rock up. I’m not at all intending to be super fan here, as I’m far from, but I’m just pointing out an obvious gap between reality and technicality .

Same. I suppose you could say, given most of modern history, you don't go to Wolves to watch them win but then it's never cost well over 2k a season to watch such abject failure before.

There's always Wolves Women and keep involved with following the club as a whole, though Telford is a decent distance from you.
