Relegation run in 22/23 ** Now a Wolves free zone**

Two weeks until our next match. February is looking like a big month for us. March looks a lot tougher (Tottenham at home followed by Newcastle away).

FEB: Liverpool (H), Southampton (A), Bournemouth (H), and Fulham (A).

I'd like at least 6 points from that lot, but should we be expecting more?

8 at the very least. Maybe 12.

The PL is piss poor this season. A lot of bang average sides from Utd downwards
I'm not convinced it isn't the opposite. The quality of the PL overall is so high that you end up with all but the really good teams (Big 6, if you like) kind of cancelling each other out for the most part.

I would say that, generally speaking, the relegated Prem clubs each season are probably better than their peers in the other big European leagues.

It's relative though isn't it?
2 of the Sky 6 and arguably 3 are underperforming and you have very well coached teams like Fulham, Brighton and Brentford in the top half. They are exactly that, if Bruno Lage was in charge of those sides they'd be bpttom 6. The New York Giants of the PL

I think they have the players to do what his Burnley team were good at personally

It's an upgrade on Tory Frank and there's enough shite down the bottom that he really should be able to get them out of trouble (Bournemouth & Saints are nailed on IMO so that leaves one spot).

Long term he won't get them anywhere though, their fans will hate him and they'll be in the exact same position this time next year.

I don't see it.

They don't have the shit house forwards to go back to front and don't have the crossers to sling it in either. DCL is never fit and he's the only one remotely equipped to do that.

They will be more competitive in defence but not scoring is going to be their biggest issue (as we know all to well)

Can't see Coad's being a Dyche man. He has 2 of his old boys he can put in with Keane and Tarkowski

DCL isn’t a shit house but he’s very good if they can get the ball to him. Gray and McNeil will stay wide and cross for him. They’ve got decent ‘head and kick’ centre backs and Dyche used to get a Championship level Burnley team to decent PL finishes. I’m not sure it’ll be enough but they have far more chance now than if they’d got Bielsa or kept Lampard imo.

I’m still hopeful/ expecting one of West Ham, Leicester and Forest to go on a truly wretched run of 6-7 consecutive losses. Please

Don't forget Leeds. Total shite.

Palace probably have enough points at this stage but their fans are getting very restless, their board aren't backing Viera at all.

DCL who has played almost zero football this season?

Gray isn't a good crosser of the ball at all.

And Bielsa is a better manager imo.

There are also many managers out there more suited to Everton's current playing squad. It isn't a binary choice between Dyche and Bielsa.

To say Dyche is by far the best chance they have of staying up is ridiculous.

Just read Dyche left Burnley on 24 points after 30 games. It's a fair while since he was actually 'good'.

And yeah, Leeds dropping like a stone would be nice too. Far too close to call the bottom 3 still.

I think when desperation kicks in and the plan to see 'performances' goes out the window and is instead replaced with strictly grinding out results, Everton and West Ham have enough quality within their squads to fight their way out of it. Dyche and Moyes, for all their faults, have experience with relegation scraps and I think both clubs will benefit from that, ultimately.

I fear for Bournemouth, Southampton and potentially Leeds on that front. From the outside looking in, we're probably grouped in with those clubs as we're a bit toothless. But I think we have plenty of quality in our squad and a very good manager in charge, so I hope we can start to pull away now.

From the others, I've no idea how Forest keep picking up results. I want them to drop like a stone. Palace and Leicester I think will pull away from the bottom three or at the very minimum, carry on at the level they're at, which will see them safe.

Out of anyone who would actually want to go to that shitshow of a club as it is right now I really don’t see it. Bielsa is a better manager but he wouldn’t be able to implement his ideas with that squad in half a season.

Think that's fair on Bielsa.

I'm fairly sure there's a lot of managers that would take Everton on.

Whether they would be any good or not I don't know but when Nathan Jones, Gary O'Neil and Ted Lasso have jobs at PL level you're only looking at being better than them which should be a given for any competent manager.

If they had any brains they'd go and get Nuno.

How did Dyche get on with his last relegation battle?
