Relegation run in 22/23 ** Now a Wolves free zone**

There was a big difference between both performances and Spurs have a lot more quality than Forest. Not comparable.
But they had none of that quality when we beat them and we got lucky? Unlike well organised Everton who were unlucky to leave with just the point?

Personally I think the ‘fight’ and organisation theme is lazy and just doesn’t seem to stand up to scrutiny. Not setting up correctly from the whistle and failing to have a simple plan based on positives we’ve all seen in relatively recent times is a much more obvious problem.

I guess we just have to score our only shot on target every game then?

Yeah, because that always happens.

I could take two games (Leicester and Leeds at home) this season rather than one in isolation and say 'every shot on target against Wolves goes in'. Clearly that would be a fucking stupid thing to say.

Never said that though?

Unfortunately the games we have played since have been a worrying trend, in terms of performance. Hopefully we can pull another one of those performances like the Spurs or Liverpool games out in the next 2 home games otherwise we are going to be in a bleak position.

So they’re keeping pace but won’t overtake us for 15 more games. Fine by me if that trend continues.

I don’t give a shit how scraping close it is, I just want us to stay up.

There’s a lot of shifting of goalposts going on here for… er, I’m not quite sure what reason.

You can’t argue Everton got lucky tonight because Keane spannered one in to the top corner late on but blissfully stick your head in the sand while shouting “EVERYTHING IS FINE” when we’ve scored our only shot on target to scrape a draw against a relegation rival. Plus the eye test clearly shows we have alarming issues from top to bottom, where as Everton appear to have some semblance of a plan and some consistency in their line ups.

The reality is, both Wolves, Everton and the other clubs involved in the relegation fight are all pretty shite. It will go down to a coin toss, who goes down.

I guess my point is that if you want to see teams full of fight and a basic plan whose players aren’t going anywhere if they’re going down then look in the Championship and at all the teams that have got relegated, as they’re top trumps with those losing virtues. We’ll need to get our points by playing to our own strengths, something Im sure we can all agree on that we’ve been not done in the last couple of games.

Not sure what the point is, but the maths are wrong

I wouldn't accuse people of making things up and 'putting words in mouths' then just do that yourself.

No everything is not fine.

We are nothing like as bad as you have insisted for three days and counting.

The form table that Tony shared a short while ago disagrees.

Thankfully there are other clubs in and around us that are currently performing just as poorly as us. That may well be our saving grace.

OR, Lop could play a proper starting 11 with proper tactics from the start of matches. Then we wouldn’t need to worry about what anyone else is doing. (I think we all agree on that front!)

Agreed there, we can only save ourselves. We won't stay up by default.

I maintain we're more than capable of doing so. As poor as we were for chunks of Saturday (not all of it, most of it)...none of Forest, Leeds, Leicester, Everton or Southampton have made any ground on us, and games are running out. I never want us to set up with that starting XI again and we've ridden our luck - you could argue we were due some - but it's in our hands.

I'll take that form table as that means Soton, Forest and Leicester all go down.

Everton played with good intensity but ultimately they are very wasteful and I did not think they looked particularly threatening. Their lack of goal threat was quite reminiscent of ourselves, in fact! Injury-time equalisers like that aren't going to happen every week. We also beat Spurs, unlike Everton.

For comparison: all of the Everton fans I know are convinced they are shit and are still going down because they have no goals in the team and have lost big games against relegation rivals. There's plenty of fans of other teams who think the same panicking negativity about their own team.

The way it stands if we’re consistent it’s all over very quickly.
If we’re inconsistent ie win3 draw3 lose3 we’ll be fine and hit 40 points.
If we’re a bit shit ie win2 draw2 lose5 then we should still be ok.
Just a case of not being mega shit ie only getting 5-6 points.
If we can’t manage the 3rd criteria then we absolutely deserve to go down.
Point of blame is solely at the club and not the officials. Numerous people are responsible some no longer here, Shi, Sellars, Lage, Lop, players.
I also find it baffling how Lage was given such leeway from our fan base. Far better managers who contributed more were hounded out.
A lot of people (not on here) are comparing this to 2010/11. It’s very different we often were in the bottom 3 for long periods that season and had numerous points where we could’ve fallen away. This is frustrating because we’ve had numerous occasions where we could’ve pulled away from this mess and blown it.

I gave Lage plenty of time because he wasn't supported by the club in the transfer market for 3 windows and when they did it was all last minute bs. He was well out of his depth and that's on those in charge and the agent pulling their strings.

He was out his depth on numerous things communication and man management before we even get to tactics.
