REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Bored on a train so I read quite a lot of the OBR no deal Brexit doc.

Summary - we are so fucked it's unbelievable. Like really truly absolutely fucked. At least all the old tossers wishing this through are going to see their investments destroyed.

you guys are fucking monsters

Look at Lil' Marky Francois :icon_lol:

Genuinely looks like Ronnie Corbett would have if he put on five stone and became a cunt.

Didn't realise he was so short! :icon_lol:

Certainly explains a lot!

Caroline lucas proving that being an idiot isn't just for the leaders of the main parties.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49314840

Yes Caroline, because the last woman to negotiate and compromise with the EU did such a good job. Here's a novel idea, get people with actual ability in politics instead of the fucking morons we have now.

Imagine if a bloke said he wanted an all male emergency cabinet.

I think Caroline L. is generally an excellent politician and a force for good, but she has dropped a bollock there, which is a tad ironic.
However, the main issue isn't her actual idea, (which I agree is stupid) but the fact that it's another distraction from the real problem, which is Johnson and the right wing cabal in government. Stop giving headline writers easy targets.

Contempt for democracy too - whatever your thoughts about them any govt without Johnson or Corbyn ain't gonna happen. She also forgot to include any non-white women and also included a load of people who've facilitated austerity. Shank.

The worst of it is that a lot of people backing the current stance have previously and serially openly derided Boris Johnson and declared they would never, ever support him. Politicians and public.

Without wishing to make this my own personal issue, take away my access to my medication (as has been established, may well happen) and I will get very ill again very quickly. Now, you might not agree with me on political issues, you may not like what I say about Wolves, but I'd like to think you don't believe that I deserve that because of YOUR political choices that I fervently oppose. You're already robbing me of citizenship that I was born with. Try not to rob me of my health, eh.

Or maybe you feel it's a price worth paying for...what exactly? Because we've established it isn't sovereignty and it isn't prosperity. What is it? What are we going to do this for? If you're going to plunge us into a situation whereby I'll quite possibly end up in an endless cycle of wanting to kill myself and later feeling endless remorse for not killing myself and worrying people, I'm going to need a fucking good reason to nod it through.

Because I've read through a lot of Dominic Cummings' blogs and they're fucking gibberish, and beyond that you have people like Lil' Marky Francois (you couldn't create a better comedy character, look at the fucking state of him, the 4'6'' moron) and Priti Patel who is a genuinely despicable specimen. They're the people you're following FFS.

The thought of this situation itself - I can't get medication, I don't have a stockpile of them (I'm not allowed to), so nothing then - is in its own way fucking my mind. Now, who gives a fuck about that? Because if you still want Brexit under Johnson's non-terms and actually yes, care whether or not I can function, then there's some kind of a contradiction here. Up to 31 October I know I can get my medication. I don't know if I can after, and "probably" doesn't cut it. This is life or death stuff here.

All this so you can puff and posture about how you "won" with no benefits other than to currency speculators and hard right cabals who want to burn legislation? And reasonably decent people like me can go burn in the aftermath?

Fuck off.

Completely understandable how this would worry anyone.
My question is; supposing, if and when Brexit happens, your medication is still available, will you call out the people who threatened it wouldn't be and put you through all of this mental anguish?

Well, not really.

If I bundle you into a shopping trolley and push you across the carriageway of the M6 and by some chance you end up hitting nothing and coming to rest on the hard shoulder, I doubt you'd appreciate me saying "see, don't know what you were worried about".

Germany: US$62.3 billion (16.8% of total drugs and medicines exports)
Switzerland: $45.3 billion (12.2%)
Belgium: $27.8 billion (7.5%)
France: $25.9 billion (7%)
United States: $22 billion (5.9%)
Ireland: $21.7 billion (5.8%)
United Kingdom: $19.7 billion (5.3%)
Italy: $19.6 billion (5.3%)
Netherlands: $16.8 billion (4.5%)
India: $13.1 billion (3.5%)
Denmark: $13 billion (3.5%)
Spain: $9 billion (2.4%)
Canada: $6.8 billion (1.8%)
Sweden: $6.7 billion (1.8%)
Austria: $5.5 billion (1.5%)

By value, the listed 15 countries shipped 85% of all exported drugs and medicine for 2018.

Among the above countries, the fastest-growing exporters of drugs and medicines since 2014 were: Denmark (up 293.4%), Switzerland (up 26.7%), India (up 22.5%) and Germany (up 20%).

So why would the countries that are in europe not want to supply the UK? Germany will not want to lose any revenue surely? I am genuinely confused by this.

It has already been pretty categorically stated that medication shortfall is an EXTREMELY likely consequence of no-deal Brexit. It isn't about those exporting, necessarily, it is about import duties making it less likely for them to do so profitably into the UK.
