REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

When he forces through no deal and the economy collapses I am sure they will all still be cheering.

He's a cunt.

If you want me to write an op-ed about a subject I know nothing about, I can probably blag it by borrowing hastily Googled opinions/stats from elsewhere and tarting up the language a bit

Hi, The Government would like to hire you to write their next detailed report on leaving the EU

I'm hearing that Southbank Resistance will get the gig, hence why he's had to give up his Wolves blog.

Wouldn't work, they have a track record of sacking people who go "er, this actually isn't a very good idea, is it".

Also my standards are higher than "directly C&Ping from Wikipedia" and inserting such gems as "The United Kingdom is an island, surrounded by sea" so it would cost them a lot more peanuts than whatever they were paying the previous monkeys.

Tory minister tells me if Brexiteers vote down Deal -he and others will openly campaign for a second referendum and to stay in EU.

He's a fucking cunt. If he get elected fuck my season ticket I'm leaving this god foresaken place.

Interesting tweet that from Norman Smith at the BBC.

Blimey, this from @SamCoatesTimes on the cabinet meeting to approve the draft #Brexit agreement “Others concentrated on no-deal consequences. Matt Hancock, the health secretary, told the room that he could not guarantee people would not die as a result of a no-deal Brexit.”

No deal is better than a bad deal....oh shit you are dead, oh well less for you to worry about now

Sounds like the 48 letter threshold has been reached. May is pretty likely to lose this vote as well.

I'm still not convinced she'd lose a leadership election tbh. She's a twat, but she's not a bojo/gove style cunt and would probably prove more popular than them across the whole party

PM to give press conference at 1700.

I would normally agree, but the political commentators are beginning to suggest she might lose the vote of confidence now. I think it is approaching the end of the road, and if looked likely she would lose then her allies would advise her to resign rather than have the humiliation of losing.

Sounds like Grayling and Mordaunt will be the next to quit the cabinet as well.

I agree. And I think they'll recognise that she'll be more popular amongst the general public than the alternatives in her own party. I think she might become more outside of Westminster through this. Brave woman standing alone while a bunch of unpleasant braying twats try to do her down, trying to steer a difficult course in the national interest, doing her best to deliver on the referendum, blah blah.
The Mail and the Express are supporting her so that'll help too.

EDIT: Unless she resigns beforehand like wot Paddy says.

Come on now, she has zero popularity amongst the general public. Not only is she a nasty piece of work, but she's incompetent and weird.

She is, however, better than all the tory alternatives who are without doubt weirder and more incompetent.

I agree with all of sentence 2. But I think you're off on sentence 1. I keep hearing women speaking very sympathetically about her.

Sorry, I meant a confidence vote rather than a members leadership election.

But yeah tbf I know loads of people that make the unsubstantiable claim that she's doing a good job. Bojo would probably win a members' vote though, he's incomprehensibly popular with the public
