I didn't agree with everything he said as I thought he was a bit off kilter with my understanding of multiculturalism specifically labels and stereotypes. Thought the exchange between himself and Deutsch was amicable given other stuff that happens.The difference between Farron and other places is purely wealth and as much as he wouldn't live in Sparkbrook he also wouldn't live with the Arabs and Russians in Knightsbridge. Racist is a strong word, I don't think I've ever called anybody that on here, nor would I comment on whether someone should or shouldn't be banned. He does however hold some very unpleasant, ignorant, views which are underpinned by his inferiority complex versus other people who have moved away from the area in which they grew up. He joined as a moderate Brexiteer with an opinionated, one sided article full of holes you could drive a tank through as his rationale for voting leave and left right of Farage.

General view was €1.12/$1.22, so better than expected. I guess the drop has already been priced in given the rates 9 months ago, however still encouraging to not see further decline.

That's kind of how it looks to me too to be honest. One of the reasons I don't bother posting much outside of the footy bit, there's a clique that will jump on anyone that doesn't agree with the herd and it gets very boring. (That and I'm busy at work at the moment so have less time). Personally when I do have time I'm happy to debate anyone as I have a pretty thick skin, but when I have less time and just read through, it's a bit painful and poor.
Without the few people who can bother to try and debate, this just turns into repetitive whinging about how awful everything is with no consideration that there are two sides to any discussion so there are potential benefits as well as downsides.its pointless unless blind agreement and ranting is all you actually want.
Theres no debate if you just remove or harass the people who disagree with you.

Not going to discuss the moderation stuff, but on the bit in bold, us Remoaners have asked repeatedly what the potential benefits of leaving will be and had virtually no response. This is why it appears as one-sided as you describe. When Cyber did try to back up his points with something more substantive, we got quite a decent discussion going. The majority of Remoaners have been saying, "I think it's a leaving is a bad idea because xxx", the Brexiteers, in the main, have said,
-"Leaving is a good idea."
- "Because?"
- "..."
It's not an argument it's just a series of unsupported assertions.

Hence his full ban...he will no doubt return with his 3rd or 4th account though. So regardless of what he thought or how he debated, he shouldn't have been on here in the first place.
Since this sub-section was created, 2 people have received temp bans on posting in just this section. If you want to take it as being banned for their views rather than their postings - 1 poster per side have been banned.
It is fair to say this forum has a majority view on remain (The Gibralter of the cyber world if you will) so of course the view point is going to be skewed. Just because that doesn't reflect the overall decision doesn't mean they should change their viewpoint. The other view is welcomed and a few from the leave side have actually debated the matter brilliantly and not even come close to being removed from here.
If 1 person wanted leave and 10 wanted to stay, of course the stay voice is going to be louder and on a subject such as this it will get heated, sometimes overstepping the line. In some cases temp removal for some posters should have been done sooner to bring the arguments down a notch or 2.
Please, for the love of sanity - If you wish to discuss the finer details of this go to the Admin sub Section and vent there but can we please get back to the subject of this thread.
