REFERENDUM RESULTS AND DISCUSSION THREAD

Bollocks.

Nobody is trying to scupper anything. As much as I hate it Brexit is happening. Nobody is trying to stop it, just making sure it's done properly (something our government seems incapable of).

I'm sure the anti-EU press will be shouting about the WILL OF THE PEOPLE again tomorrow though.

The Mail, Express and Guardian are as bad as each other. In a way the Guardian is worse, because nobody really believes what the Mail or Express say. The worrying part is, it is hard to find a Guardian reader that accepts it is full of propaganda. That is deeply disturbing.

Not true though is it, you know very well I read the Guardian (have done virtually every single day since about 1999) and yet I pretty much never agree with Polly Toynbee and I find Matthew D'Ancona to be a reprehensible character.

As has been repeatedly demonstrated they do show both sides of the argument too (albeit it is nuanced towards one side). Their economics editor is pro-Brexit.

Making. Things. Up.

You are in danger of becoming a parody.

Really? Part of the problem is there are people thick enough to read the xenophobic views that the likes of the express and co have been allowed to air in the past 18 months.

Yes, but they had those views before. The Mail and Express didnt make them in to idiots. Many people who read the Guardian actually believe that it is impartial and is not full of propaganda. That is more worrying, if you ask me.

Quit the patronising $#@!,

Sweetheart, you're far too sensitive x Read it far more slowly. There's not many words - well hardly enough to ramble. Pffftt ...

UI has been explained. It's your rambling post I would like explaining. Maybe I should have asked you to explain your post better rather than saying I have no idea what you are on about (which I don't).

What bit about taking away the welfare/benefits and replacing it with a basic income do you misunderstand? That money has to provide everything you need and it doesn't stop people attaining the skills and qualifications to get jobs that pay more. Do you think my figures are too high and if so what would yours be and why? You'd be surprised to know that when you take money out of the equation it doesn't necessarily mean you lose an incentive to work.

What has low paid jobs always being filled got to do with an open door immigration policy? And what on earth are you on about with motivation in itself is work. Rather than saying you're not surprised explain it so we can all have a better understanding of your writings.

With a basic income of the figures I mentioned there won't be any low paid jobs. You pay the basic income regardless of whether people want to work or not - their choice. There's a few who apparently can't be forced into work now so what's the difference. If there are shortages of labour then the migrants can fill those - like they do now.

You keep mentioning about people not being forced into work, why do you do this, do you want people to be forced into work?

No, I've highlighted a society that tends to take more than it gives given the chance. People who rely on others (i.e. the taxpayer) that have no choice but to support them. If you take people out of poverty, you would hope that it would give them the incentive to contribute.

You really are an odd little man, you haven't explained anything I've mentioned but you have explained UI again.

It was your rambling I wanted you to explain - 'motivation is work', 'immigrants will fill low paid jobs', 'you can't force people into work' and 'people who rely on others'.

Thank any old diety asks you then otherwise we'd get a one eyed load of nonsense you would read in the Daily Mail or Express such as the idiots read.......oh

Your posts are about as factual as Donald Trump's tweets. Probably worse. At least he is limited to 140 characters.

I am.

You've been called out on it before. Can you show me some of the "propaganda" the paper is "full of"?
