Reading (A) build up thread

Small Heath Alliance has to be top surely.

I give them props for deciding that the Internet looked perfect in 1999 and therefore there is no need to upgrade on design. Rustic.

Possibly the third worst mainstream club forum, behind RAWK and OTIB.

Debatable whether square headed ex-hooligan turned dreadful author Annis Abraham's Cardiff forum counts as their main board, if it does then it's probably battling with HobNob for that bronze medal.

MolMix is bad.

There's a thread on there atm where the OP is GENUINELY suggesting that we should sign Cristiano Ronaldo and there are GENUINE replies underneath saying that they wouldn't want him because he's too old/a bad influence.

:icon_lol: Just been and taken a look. Didn't even think there were websites around anymore that looked like that

Reading do like to play possession build up, though at times it can appear a little ponderous, but as they proved at Derby County, they are a very capable team. It will be another tough test, but one that we should savour. I think we might just edge it 2 - 1.

I had to look, didn't I.

I can't have any faith in humanity any more.

My favourite was the post saying James Rodriguez would be more realistic

Yeah MolMix is up there with the worst. HobNob is awful too

Regarding Reading’s possession game, I think at the moment that is the type of team we are best again. Firstly because at this level they are usually so poorly organised out of possession but also because we are so hard to break down.

Because I’ve said that, Edwards to tear us apart and score a hat trick... :) There are still fans saying we bloody miss him, and those who have now realised we clearly don’t, are very quiet indeed.

Well technically they're right. Rodriguez would be more realistic than Ronaldo... :icon_lol:

There is nothing I miss about Dave Edwards. Maybe instead of Steve Daley's interviews we could do a half time thing where fans are invited on to simulate falling on your arse and hammering the ball over the bar from 10 yards out. That might quell the nostalgia.

We miss his pointing. Poor Ruben hasn’t mastered that art yet. Must be the weather.

Re: Forums. Norwich's is pretty awful too. Pinkun IIRC.

View it on a mobile and the text is on a tiny bit of the right hand side of the screen, with the user avatar taking up most of the space. Utter aids for the eyes.

Was thinking of doing this one as reasonably close, but out of funds & it's in the middle of nowhere anyway

Wouldn't worry unduly about Edwards & Bod scoring - they didn't that often for us so why would they for anyone else, particularly as we have a somewhat better defensive line now

IT IS THE LAW IT ALWAYS HAPPENS

(except for all the times it hasn't happened this season, let alone every other season)

I wasn't aware about Douglas being out, move Doherty to the left, Coady to the right and we can party like its March again.

Assuming they play the same system as last year then like with Fulham I'm pretty confident, I don't see any side out footballing us, Dave will do his one man press on the midfield but I doubt that will trouble us.

Reading hate us because B3h's uncle gobbed on them at the play off semi final.

Glad you all know, understand and appreciate the theory even if you refuse to believe it! Thanks for the acknowldgement.

Bod or Dave to score- lightening doesnt strike twice surely! We are also , or have been in recent years, shit after an international break ( better this year though)
We havent won there in ages- but I was there the last time we did as I was stationed at Bramshill then . This weekend is the 3rd anniverssary of my retirement so all things magical, mythical and planets aligning considered I reckon its about time we won there again. IIRC We gave their supporters a really nasty torrent of abuse in about 2003 when they were leaving the ground on the way to the trains and spat at women and children covering ourselves in not a lot of glory so I get why , since then , they absolutely hate us. Oh and beating them in the play offs!

So I wnat us to keep momentum and am going for a 2-1 win. Dangerous to score both ends.
