Reading 0-0 Verdict Thread

And that is why he needs to go. We aren't going up. We aren't going down. The season is deader than flares and there has been precious little entertainment.

Henry should have scored but also had two other excellent shots.

Siggy looked lively which is great to see

Iorfa needs a rest, but.......

Batth is poor and needs replacing.

Iorfa does need a rest, that is true. He's not playing terribly as he still defends well but you can see when he gets on the ball he is short of self-belief. If Jackett is still in charge next season he is harming his development.

Iorfa has always lacked passing options so that part of his game has hardly been in development. A good coach and a good system of play required to get him playing to his potential.

Good to hear Siggy has got some form but perhaps he's playing for his next contract

Reading his recent interviews, it seems like he's grown up a bit and wants to try and make something of himself.

Im so fed up with the negative approach...what has happened to KJ, why have we signed all these nr 10's and wingers that cant get a game. He has clearly lost the plot completely. I want WOLVES back...

Pleased for Siggy, when he came thought that there was something worthwhile there - however, playing in the current setup will do him (nor anyone else playing as the lone striker) no favours.

They will all look ineffective even if potentially they aren't

His contract is up this season. Not sure he's done much to justify a new one. We might give him one if his wages are reasonable as it means we then won't have to pay for a replacement.

We'll probably give him another year purely for the reason that we're so short up front

TBF, he's not had much chance to show what he can do.....sounds familiar?

He's played over 50 games for us. In my eyes that's plenty of chances.

Absolutely. He's got a lot of work to do to prove to me that he's worth another go. His 'performance' at Rotherham still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. He didn't care.

I hope he can prove me wrong. And not just to earn a new deal and then return to his half arsed ways. I think he's got an incredibly easy ride from the fans - I do think there's ability there and I want him to prove that he's worth keeping on.

I think he was a little unlucky that day personally. He was trying hard for the team but it didn't quite work for himself when it came down to it.

Griffiths was much livelier so Siggy inevitably got subbed never to be seen again.....

I thought he was the lower end of average in the Championship and his 'efforts' in League One were disgraceful. I have sympathy for anybody who is the focal point of Jackett's current anti football system, but he'd have to do something spectacular between now and the end of the season for me to think he's worth a new contract

To be fair to him he came to a new country at quite a young age in to quite a poisonous team and was played in a number of positions. I think he felt he wasn't really wanted in league 1 under Jackett and that seemed to show and obviously hadn't settled here, he also was playing with quite a bad back that we didn't know at the time. I've liked what i have seen of him when he has played well and he's been pretty good in his few and lonely performances this season but i don't think he's a number 9.

I thought he was one of very few bright spots in 2012/13.

He didn't cover himself in glory in L1 but nor was he helped by the patented Ken system of dealing with a player he's not sure of - the odd fleeting sub appearance, an occasional 45 minutes from the start and if he didn't shine then back on the bench for weeks/months. Meanwhile Doyle was playing every single week and contributing absolutely nothing, he was at least as shit.

I quite like him as a footballer but I'm not sure he's going to do enough (or more pertinently, get enough opportunity to show what he can actually do) in this team over the next three months to earn a new deal.

Agree. He's also been played out of position quite a lot. Still a lot of debate as to whether he's a 9 or 10 but he's certainly not a winger, he's never looked good there.

As for the bit in bold, he's not exactly going to have many clubs clamouring for his signature with his injury problems and lack of game time over the past few years. Might be a case of offering him a year or two as a cheap option with very little downside.

I think he has got all the attributes to be a good player for us, especially in the position we find ourselves in. He has got the physique now he was a bit lightweight at first and i think struggled with the physicality of the league.

He is decent enough on the ball and got pace. He was great at the Peterborough away game and took his goal very well. That was a good team performance and we didn't even get out of 2nd gear.

I hope he can stay fit and get a good run in the team playing up top centrally and not pushed out wide either side. There is a player there for sure but is Kenny the man to get the best out of him.

I think he'd have a few clubs in Europe who would be willing to sign him especially with no fee. From what i have seen already this season i think he's still got potential though and i would like us to offer him a new contract. I think he's a 10 and in the right team could work out well, in this team wherever he plays i think he's fighting an uphill battle.
