I seriously doubt that Matt Jackson is an appropriate appointment (not least as he was here multiple times when we appointed someone else) but I don't know why Wellen makes out he's some kind of random nobody plucked from nowhere. He played the thick end of 200 Premier League games, he is recognisably someone who has worked in top level football for a large part of his working life.

That doesn't qualify him in itself and I wouldn't lose any sleep if we cleared decks, but don't be silly.

The non-exec directors are a complete non-story as well. They have been there since before Fosun arrived, they are there for corporate governance purposes on a voluntary basis, they do not have any say in how the club is run.

And therein lies what I see as central to the Wolves problem.

Of course, Deutsch, I don't mind the occasional disagreement. That's normal but IMHO we are picking up relative amateurs and we are supposedly a top drawer club with global 'players' in the broadest sense of the word. This type of appointment is just cosy club mates stuff just like when the great person and ex-player legend, John Richards, was Chairman. Same applied with the useless sons of Jack Hayward.

1. Matt Jackson. Plucked from self employment after being a no mark office boy for five years at a no mark Wigan. What he did as a player or what he is like as a bloke IMHO is largely irrelevant.

2. Bowater and Gough as pansy executive directors. They give local nodding donkey credibility to recently diabolical leadership and management at all levels in our club, and for what purpose? They give silent endorsement and they get the reflected glory when it goes well while they get tickets to handout to worthies. Wasters IMHO.

So, IMHO let's have serious pros working on our admin side!

Could not agree more. Nuno’s ambition was the polar opposite to this sort of mediocre chumocracy. Now we’re back to employing a coach load of Gareth Cheesemans, that period all seems like a dream.

People defending JSL need to take a look at Raúl. He's 34 and he's nowhere near as good as he used to be but he never hides. His fitness and professionalism are unquestionable, he's always so positive and has always been a really smart, bright footballer.

We gave Tchatchoua a 5 year deal? Christ almighty, that's 3 years of loans before paying his last 6 months up then. From scrolling through on here. Mendes seems to get off lightly on the Lopez deal from what I can see. I went to Stoke in pre season and could see then, he's a good technical player, but it'll be 2 years at best before he's PL ready. Be great playing 5 a side on a Monday night

You hear sometimes "if you combined Player X with Player Y you'd have a world beater". Like I dunno, if you gave Adama the crossing ability of James Henry, or gave James Henry Adama's pace.

If you combined Tchatchoua and Hoever you would somehow have an even worse right back.

And Doherty is worse as a full back/wing back than both of them now (it is a genuine scandal that at 34 he is still getting regular minutes, he would struggle to get on the bench for any other Premier League team).

Is Doherty really worse than these two bums? Hard to fathom how he could be. At least he won a penalty by showing a bit of gumption. From which Stand Larsen showed what he's all about this season, but that's another matter.

Matt Doherty is our best option at either RWB or RB in the PL a month off his 34th birthday when he wasn't in League One at 22 and that version of Sam Ricketts would still be ahead of him now. That's how terrible our recruitment has been

Martin O'Neill has gone in two footed on Doherty. Accusing him of talking the talk but not walking the walk, which is more than fair enough in my view. Doherty doesn't get a bye because he's stood there and given that interview after another pathetic performance, he's been just as bad as anyone. What these players have done this season is a stain on their careers which will be impossible to remove and he's supposed to be one of the leaders of that dressing room. His body language has been typically atrocious all season, fucking look at him for the second Brentford goal.
