Rats

I seriously doubt that Matt Jackson is an appropriate appointment (not least as he was here multiple times when we appointed someone else) but I don't know why Wellen makes out he's some kind of random nobody plucked from nowhere. He played the thick end of 200 Premier League games, he is recognisably someone who has worked in top level football for a large part of his working life.

That doesn't qualify him in itself and I wouldn't lose any sleep if we cleared decks, but don't be silly.

The non-exec directors are a complete non-story as well. They have been there since before Fosun arrived, they are there for corporate governance purposes on a voluntary basis, they do not have any say in how the club is run.

And therein lies what I see as central to the Wolves problem.

Of course, Deutsch, I don't mind the occasional disagreement. That's normal but IMHO we are picking up relative amateurs and we are supposedly a top drawer club with global 'players' in the broadest sense of the word. This type of appointment is just cosy club mates stuff just like when the great person and ex-player legend, John Richards, was Chairman. Same applied with the useless sons of Jack Hayward.

1. Matt Jackson. Plucked from self employment after being a no mark office boy for five years at a no mark Wigan. What he did as a player or what he is like as a bloke IMHO is largely irrelevant.

2. Bowater and Gough as pansy executive directors. They give local nodding donkey credibility to recently diabolical leadership and management at all levels in our club, and for what purpose? They give silent endorsement and they get the reflected glory when it goes well while they get tickets to handout to worthies. Wasters IMHO.

So, IMHO let's have serious pros working on our admin side!

Anyway, more seriously, have a great Christmas and New Year, Deutsch and everyone else!

One of the many things I loved about the early Fosun years was them coming in and removing the perceived cosy club of mediocrities, far too comfortable in their positions and all underachieving. Sadly it looks like we may be reassembling another set of back slapping, over promoted, under achieving mediocrities for the future years of depressing lower league nothingness
Could not agree more. Nuno’s ambition was the polar opposite to this sort of mediocre chumocracy. Now we’re back to employing a coach load of Gareth Cheesemans, that period all seems like a dream.

Also doesn't know Hobbs was employed as Sporting Director at Palace months ago
Who me? LOL Not guilty! I knew that. God knows how he got it!
I also knew that Rob Edwards was visiting Molineux to catch up on several occasions while employed at other clubs. Supposedly, it was to talk about players... Yeah right. Like in all fields, networking for the future is seen by many as common sense.

100%

People defending JSL need to take a look at Raúl. He's 34 and he's nowhere near as good as he used to be but he never hides. His fitness and professionalism are unquestionable, he's always so positive and has always been a really smart, bright footballer.

I note with complete horror on the Mix that Matt Jackson wants to be chairman at Wolves but also far worse than that....

Fabrizio Romano is quoted as reporting that Wolves have agreement with Hee-Chan Hwang for a contract extension until June 2028 with another year as an option!!!!!

WTF!

He did say that...2 years ago. That's the contract he already has

The contracts of all the senior players:

2027

Kalajdzic
Hoever
Bentley
Sa
Mané

2028

Doyle
S Bueno
Bellegarde
Hwang
Munetsi
Johnstone
H Bueno

2029

2030

We gave Tchatchoua a 5 year deal? Christ almighty, that's 3 years of loans before paying his last 6 months up then. From scrolling through on here. Mendes seems to get off lightly on the Lopez deal from what I can see. I went to Stoke in pre season and could see then, he's a good technical player, but it'll be 2 years at best before he's PL ready. Be great playing 5 a side on a Monday night

He'd lose an arm wrestle to Trincao. I don't see how he's ever even remotely viable for English football.

Lopez being good in 2 years puts him a level above most of the others.

Also a reminder that we will have owned Ki-Jana Hoever for SEVEN years before he finally goes. I didn't need seven weeks to know he was dross.

Unless we pointlessly extend his contract, again.

Fabio silva was always supposed to coming good next season, we never found out, neither did any of the clubs we sent him to, perhaps Real Betis will be the lucky ones if Dortmund get rid of him on the rumoured loan in January sale in the summer

I think it’s the Fulham game where I thought thank fuck Tchathcoua isn’t playing, and then Hoever puts in that performance. I don’t understand how he’s this bad when at 16 he kept us relatively quiet in that cup game. They are both utterly horrendous in their own different ways.

You hear sometimes "if you combined Player X with Player Y you'd have a world beater". Like I dunno, if you gave Adama the crossing ability of James Henry, or gave James Henry Adama's pace.

If you combined Tchatchoua and Hoever you would somehow have an even worse right back.

And Doherty is worse as a full back/wing back than both of them now (it is a genuine scandal that at 34 he is still getting regular minutes, he would struggle to get on the bench for any other Premier League team).

Fair cop you guys. Got posted on the Mix today and as I don't have encyclopaedic knowledge of the contracts of Wolves players, I thought it was news. Shouldn't trust posters on the Mix should I?

Great post with the contract lengths of the squad from Deutsch. I don't know how you do it mate!

A hybrid of Tchatchoua and Hoever, you say? <shudder> How does the sum of two zeroes somehow come out as a negative?

Is Doherty really worse than these two bums? Hard to fathom how he could be. At least he won a penalty by showing a bit of gumption. From which Stand Larsen showed what he's all about this season, but that's another matter.

Matt Doherty is our best option at either RWB or RB in the PL a month off his 34th birthday when he wasn't in League One at 22 and that version of Sam Ricketts would still be ahead of him now. That's how terrible our recruitment has been
