As an aside for those people choosing smell as their sense, the suicide rates for people who have lost a sense is highest in those that have lost their sense of smell over all the others.

I'm doomed then, as have poor sense of smell for many years

PPB - hopefully you don't object to other questions being posted!

The most outlandish outfit you have worn to work - not on dress down Friday or charity days, but just 'that looks good I'm wearing that today'

Of course not parkin, all questions are welcome :)

Not really outlandish, but a pair of baggy dungarees that could have fit two people inside, and a black sports bra thing. I was only 17 at the time. Well I thought it looked good !!

As Deutsch pointed out it means you lose your sense of taste as well, which people can't handle as well as they think they can.

It also automatically means you have something in common with Harry Redknapp, and no-one wants that.

Best for me was the Grey double breasted suit with black shirt & white kipper tie (got sent home from the bank to change as the Manager considered that I looked like a member of the Mafia)

- either that or the Magenta suit with knee length jacket, Showadywaddy style, combined with two tone 2ins platform shoes (no idea why I needed those as I'm 6ft 1in anyway & they were impossible to drive in) - can't think now why I would have thought that was suitable dress for a Bank

Losing your sense of touch would be awful though, you'd have no sensation of anything, it'd make some tasks ridiculously difficult as well not knowing how much pressure you were applying to something. Take driving for example, you'd just be stamping on the pedals all the time like a mad man.

Taste is probably the one to lose i'd have thought as that's just the basic salt, sweet, etc. of food, most of the flavour is picked up by the nose.

I think it would be awful too. Making love wouldnt be the same. Id rather lose smell.

Looking back, not sure what was worse in those days , our clothes or hairstyles !

My hair style was fine then, though do remember a Bank Inspector asking me where the nearest barbers was, then deciding that was a pointless question as I had clearly not been to one for some time (I had in fact, but not to cut any off, just to trim & style, it was only just touching my shoulders - suspect that I was a severe disappointment to Barclays Bank at that time)

Do you hate to hear a woman use bad language ?

Guilty/secret pleasures ?

At night when all is quiet I have a bubble bath, in the bath I take a glass of red wine, my book, and 2 squares of chocolate.

What years did you work at Barclays ? My sister worked at the Fordhouses branch in the early 80's. They used to treat their staff great and gave great Christmas parties i recall, to which she could take a 'guest ' , me :)

Small world, I used to work at The Midland in Fordhouses in the early '80's and knew a lot of the staff at Barclays.
